Eczema is a disease of the Skin.
An inflammation of the outer layer that is epidermis of the skin is Eczema.
It results in the formation of Vesicles and pustules.
A colorless discharge oozes from these vesicles.
It is indicated by redness and swelling of the Skin.
It is an allergic disease.

Materia Medica for Eczema

Single Herb

Pokeweed for Eczema

Pokeweed is considered to be an effective remedy in treating Eczema.
Take dried root of Pokeweed. Grind to make powder. Add water to make a paste. Apply it over the affected skin. When dry, wash with normal water.
OR : Put 5 to 8 drops of Pokeweed tincture in half cup of warm water. Dip a soft cloth in water and squeeze slightly. Place it over the affected part. Repeat the process till the water cools down. It soothes the affected skin.
Olive Oil bears Anti-inflammatory and Antibacterial properties. Its application brings relief to the inflamed skin.
Apply Olive oil over the affected part, 2 to 3 times a day.
Note : Wash the area with fresh water before applying.
Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) has Anti-inflammatory and Antibacterial properties that soothe the skin. These all make Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) a potent herb to treat Skin Ailments like; Eczema.
Take a handful of fresh Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) leaves. Crush and boil them in 50 ml of any Carrier oil ( like; Mustard Oil, Coconut Oil ) for 10 minutes. Strain and store in a bottle. Apply it daily on the affected part twice a day. You can also use it for soaking, bathing and washing the affected part.

Cassia Obtusifolia for Eczema

Make an alcoholic or vinegar maceration of pounded fresh Cassia Obtusifolia leaves. Use it, externally on the affected skin.

Comfrey for Eczema

Allantoin and Vitamin A are the chief nutrients of Comfrey which counter Eczema. Allantoin keeps the skin soft and even. Vitamin A is a potent Antioxidant which cures itching and dryness of the skin.
Use decoction of Comfrey plant to wash the affected area. Do it 2 to 3 times a day.
Baking Soda ( Meetha Soda ) has Antiseptic property. It helps to treat Eczema and cleanses the skin.
Add 2 tablespoons of Baking Soda in lukewarm water. Soak the affected part for 15 minutes or soak a cloth in this water and apply on the affected part. Follow this by using normal water.
Cod Liver Oil ( Kad Machli Ka Tel ) contains Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin A and Vitamin D. The Anti- allergic and Anti- inflammatory properties of Omega-3 Fatty Acids are helpful to combat the signs of Eczema such as; Inflammation, Redness and Blisters. Vitamin A acts as a rejuvenator and Vitamin D removes the Pathogens which may lead to Eczema.
Apply Cod Liver Oil ( Kad Machli Ka Tel ) on the affected areas.
Coconut Oil ( Nariyal ka Tel ) has Antiallergic properties. It cures swelling and redness.
Apply Coconut oil on the infected areas.
OR : Consume orally 2-3 tablespoons of Coconut Oil ( Nariyal ka Tel ) daily to get rid of Eczema symptoms.

Mint ( Pudina ) for Eczema

Mint ( Pudina ) has Antibacterial and Antifungal properties. These properties make Mint ( Pudina ) an effective remedy against Eczema.
Take fresh Mint ( Pudina ) leaves. Crush them. Squeeze the crushed leaves to extract its juice. Apply it over the affected area 2 to 3 times a day. Leave it to dry and wash with normal water.

Snow Lotus for Eczema

Make Snow Lotus root powder . Roast it. Add adequate quantity of coconut oil to make a paste. Apply to the affected skin.
Walnut Oil ( Akhrot Ka Tel ) is a good Emollient which is very helpful in curing Eczema.
Take Walnut Oil ( Akhrot Ka Tel ). Apply on the affected area. Do it 2 to 3 times a day.
Note : Its better not to wash the area after applying the oil. But, if you feel sticky, you may wash it off after an hour.

Papaya ( Papita ) for Eczema

Apply milk of raw Papaya ( Papita ) once a day for a month.
OR : Rub Papaya ( Papita ) seeds on affected parts.

Cucumber ( Kheera ) for Eczema

Cucumber ( Kheera ) has a cooling and soothing effect on the skin. It is helpful to combat inflammation associated with Eczema.
Drink one glass Cucumber ( Kheera ) juice daily. Also Apply it over affected parts. Let it dry and wash with normal water.
Sandalwood ( Chandan ) has Antibacterial property which helps to cure Eczema.
Take 2 teaspoons Sandalwood ( Chandan ) powder. Make a paste by adding some water. Apply on the affected part twice a day. Let it dry. Wash with normal water. It gives a soothing and cooling effect.

Yellow Cotton Tree for Eczema

Apply a poultice of its root over the affected area.

Elephantopus Scaber for Eczema

Prepare a decoction of Elephantopus Scaber plant. Use it to wash the Eczema affected areas.

Vitex Negundo for Eczema

Grind boiled leaves of Vitex Negundo. Apply the paste on inflamed areas.

Betel ( Pan ) for Eczema

Take fresh Betel ( Pan ) leaves. Crush them and rub them on the affected part twice a day.
Grind fresh leaves of Chaste Berry ( Nirgundi ) with little water. Apply on the affected part of the skin for 20 minutes. Wash with cold water. It also gives you fresh and glowing skin.

Lady's Mantle for Skin

Boil Lady's Mantle herb in some water till it thickens a little. Use it as a lotion for Skin rashes, Eczema, Cuts, Wounds and such other Skin Problems.

Helicteres Isora for Skin Diseases

Crush leaves of Helicteres Isora to make a paste. Apply it on damaged or infected Skin.
Prepare a decoction of Anisomeles indica plant. Wash affected parts with this decoction twice a day.

Ashoka for Skin Diseases

Crush flowers of Ashoka. Boil it in Coconut oil. Filter and apply it over infected Skin.
OR : Make a paste by grinding Ashoka flowers and leaves together. Rub on the affected skin.
Boiled Stinging Nettle ( Bichu Buti ) leaves can be applied externally for Eczema.

Witch Hazel for Eczema

Make a paste of Witch Hazel leaves. Apply directly to the affected area.

Speed Well for Eczema

Pick the flowering tops of the herb and make a tea.
Use as a wash for Eczema and other Skin Diseases.

Nutmeg ( Jaiphal ) for Eczema

Apply grated Nutmeg ( Jaiphal ) over affected area.

Shea Butter for Eczema

Apply Shea Butter obtained from fruit of Shea Tree over affected areas. Its greasiness moisturize the Skin.

Banyan for Eczema

Take few leaves of Banyan tree. Crush them to make a paste. Apply over damaged Skin.

Jatropha for Skin Diseases

Use latex of Jatropha as an ointment over damaged Skin.

Agrimony for Eczema

Make a strong decoction by boiling a handful of Agrimony leaves in some water.
Use as a bath additive for Skin infections like Eczema.
Apply Castor oil over leaves of Butter Tree ( Mahua ). Heat. Use as poultice over affected areas.

Chayote for Eczema

Apply raw pulp of Chayote fruit over Skin Rashes.

Turmeric ( Haldi ) for Eczema

Turmeric ( Haldi ) consists of Antibacterial and Anti-fungal properties which fight against Eczema.
Simmer One tablespoon of Turmeric ( Haldi ) in a cup of boiling water for 8-10 minutes. Cool and drink. As well as, Use this preparation to wash the affected area.
OR : Add water in Turmeric ( Haldi ) powder to make a paste. Apply the paste over affected parts. Wash with normal water after drying.
Take a fresh Aloe Vera ( Gheekumari ) leaf and apply its gel topically on the affected area. Let it dry. Wash off with warm water. Apply it regularly for good results.
Chamomile ( Babunah ) has soothing and calming effects on the skin.
Steep a handful of dried Chamomile ( Babunah ) flowers in a cup of boiling water for 15 minutes. Cool and sieve it. Soak a clean and soft piece of cloth in it and place it on the affected part for some time. Repeat it thrice daily.
Peru Balsam Essential Oil is useful in treating Eczema. It also prevents further occurrence of the disease.
Mix 4 drops of Peru Balsam Essential Oil with one teaspoon of base Oil ( like; Coconut Oil ). Massage the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day.
Helichrysum Essential Oil has Antiinfective, Antifungal and Antiinflammatory properties. These help to diminish inflammation and promote the healing process.
Add 2 tablespoons of Helichrysum Essential Oil in 8 tablespoons of non irritating carrier oil ( Preferably Coconut Oil ). Store in a glass bottle. Glass bottle keeps all the nutrients of oil safe as it was. Use it on affected areas 3 to 4 times a day.
Note : Wash the affected part before every application.

Honey ( Shehad ) for Eczema

Honey ( Shehad ) has Antimicrobial and Antiinflammatory properties. These properties help to speed up the healing process.
Apply a thin layer of Honey ( Shehad ) on the affected area. Leave it for half an hour. Now wash with cold water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Do it 2 to 3 times a day.
Note : The stickiness of Honey ( Shehad ) may irritate you. So, you may bandage the area.
Tea Tree Essential Oil is rich in Antibacterial, Antiseptic and Anti-fungal properties. These properties make the oil an effective cure against Eczema.
Add 15 to 20 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil in your bathing water. Soak the affected area for about 15 to 20 minutes. Do it 2 times a day.
OR : Add half a teaspoon of Tea Tree Essential Oil with 2 tablespoons of Coconut or Olive Oil. Apply it over affected skin. Leave it over night.
Note : slight inflammation is normal. If, it irritates much then discontinue the use.

Calendula Arvensis for Eczema

Healing and Soothing effects of Calendula Arvensis are helpful to treat Eczema. Calendula Arvensis provides relief from inflammation and rashes due to Eczema.
Boil flower petals of Calendula Arvensis in water. Cool. Use it for washing the affected area.
OR : Add 10 to 15 drops of Calendula Arvensis tincture in half a cup of water. Dip a soft cloth in this water and dab it over the affected area. Repeat it 2 to 3 times.
Lavender Essential Oil possesses healing property which helps to get rid of Eczema.
Put 10 to 15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil in a tub. Soak the affected area for 20 to 30 minutes. It will give you relaxation from irritation and inflammation associated with Eczema. It will also uproot the problem. Do it daily for two weeks.

Wheat Germ Oil for Eczema

Vitamin E found in Wheat Germ Oil, is a powerful Antioxidant. It is beneficial in treating dry Eczema.
Apply Wheat Germ Oil over the affected skin twice a day.

Margosa Oil for Eczema

Emollient and Anti inflammatory properties of Margosa Oil ( Neem Ka Tel In India ) treat Eczema. These properties reduce the inflammation and prevent the moisture loss from the skin. Margosa Oil is helpful in reduce the itching and redness of the Skin.
Take 1 to 2 tablespoons of any carrier oil. Add 5 to 8 drops of Margosa Oil in it. Apply this Oil blend on to the affected area. Leave it for 20 to 25 minutes. Dab off excess Oil with a tissue. Repeat this 2 to 3 times a day to treat Eczema.

Pine Essential Oil for Eczema

Pine Essential Oil possesses strong Antibacterial and Antiinflammatory properties. These properties help to fight harmful bacteria and reduces inflammation of the Skin. Pine Essential Oil helps to treat Eczema.
Add 3 to 4 drops of Pine Essential Oil in 1 to 2 tablespoons of any Carrier Oil ( Jojoba Oil ). Mix well. Apply this Oil blend on the affected skin. Massage for 5 to 10 minutes. Apply this twice a day.

Sea Buckthorn for Eczema

Consume 2 capsules of Sea Buckthorn pulp oil once a day. It reduces the inflammation of Eczema and lessons the itchiness of the skin.

Bitter Leaf for Eczema

Apply the extracted juice of Bitter Leaf over the affected area to treat Eczema.
Make a decoction by boiling Pithecellobium Dulce bark in 200 ml of water for 10 minutes. Strain it off. Drink this decoction daily to reduce Eczema

Guava ( Amrood ) for Eczema

Grind dried Guava leaves to make a powder. Apply over the affected areas.
Note : Do not use for more than 30 days.
Make a paste of Wild Indian Almond leaves by grinding them. Apply over the affected areas.
Take one tablespoon of Black Peppercorns. Fry it in Cow Ghee until the Black Peppercorns get charred. Apply it over the affected area.
Mix Cinnamon powder and Honey in a ratio of 1:1. Apply over the affected areas. Repeat the process two times a day.

Water Chestnut for Eczema

Take dried Water Chestnut and grind it to make a fine powder. Mix this powder with Lemon juice to make a paste. Apply it on the affected area daily.
Take half teaspoon of Commiphora Mukul gum powder with one glass of lukewarm water.
It will help in treating Eczema.

Henna ( Mehandi ) for Eczema

Apply the Oil of Heena seeds on the affected area. Repeat the process two times a day.
It will provide relief from Eczema.

Rosehip Seed Oil for Skin Diseases

It is rich in Vitamin A, E and fatty acid. They help in reducing the inflammation, Itching and dry skin. It improves the skin tone and repairs the damaged Skin.
Apply Rosehip seeed oil on the affected area. Regular application helps in treating Skin Diseases such as Eczema and Psoriasis.

Boil 3 tablespoon powdered bark each of Acacia Nilotica and Mango in 4 cups of water. Foment the affected area with the vapors. Now anoint with Clarified Butter.

Take 20 g bark each of Mango and Catechu. Boil it in water. Dip a piece of cloth in it and apply over affected areas.

Make a paste of two tablespoons of Turmeric ( Haldi ) by adding some Milk ( Dudh ). Apply directly on the affected area. Rinse off when after One hour. Repeat daily.

Grind Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) and raw Turmeric ( Haldi ) together. Add some Sesame Oil ( Til Ka Tel ) to make a paste. Apply the paste on the affected skin and let it dry. Wash off with warm water. Repeat it daily.
In this combination, Turmeric ( Haldi ) and Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) both have Antibacterial, Anti-fungal properties. These two are very helpful in treatment of Eczema. Sesame Oil has skin friendly properties and here it used as a base oil.

Mix a cup full of Epsom Salt and 10-12 drops of Lavender Essential Oil in a bath tub. Soak yourself in it for half an hour. Pat dry and moisturize your skin. Do it Once a weak.

Best is Neem ke pani se nahana. and also use of Sandalwood paste and Haldi are very effective.

We advise you to try Banyan tree leaves. As your child is very small so we have to take care that we should not advise him some strong remedies. Take a few leaves of Banyan tree and make a paste. Apply on the affected parts.

My daughter is 23 years old suffers from eczema. She takes care of her skin well with using olive oil and she mixes tea tree into her oil and uses daily. She still has flare ups of eczema especially if weather changes or she travels. Any recommendations of the best eczema treatment for her. Her last flare up doctor gave her pills and ream for itching and a round of prednesone.

Dear Sir,

My 14-months old nephew has severe eczema since the last 3 months and now spreading to all over his body. Diagnose indicated the eczema caused by his allergic to gluten. We now ensure his food is gluten-free and has tried modern medicine, various cream and oil eg olive oil, coconut virgin oil but his situation does not improve. Hope you can help.

Apply pure coconut oil for at least 3 months. Do not skip. You can make your own coconut milk at home and apply that also. Do not forget to apply before going to bed. It is really beneficial.

My son is 27 years old. He has eczema which has dry scaly appearance. He has had this for 3 years now. He also has allergies like allergy to grass. He has polyp growth in his nose and behind the eye sockets. He had 3 operations to remove polyps but they grow back. He constantly suffers from Block nose. Please prescribe

Hello, I have itching red patch on my ankle. It appeared around the time I started taking the "women's" herbs. Which of these herbs may be causing skin rashes - black cohosh, chasteberry (vitex), fenugreek, maca, costus root, licorice, peony, don quai, ashwaghanda, cramp bark, black haw? Please advise, thank you

Try Tea tree oil diluted with some coconut oil.
Also try Baking soda. Add it to your bathing tub and soak your affected body parts in it.
Stop these if you find any irritation.

Hello, my 31-month-old (2yrs and 7mos) has been dealing with atopic eczema since he was 15/ or 18months old. l have tried homeopathy, herbal medication, and eventually steroids when nothing was working. l try to do a gluten-free diet as well. Now the rashes are back and he is always itching his scalp. The dermatologist says he'll need griseofulvin medication for fungal infection on his scalp. This medication will require constant monitoring of his liver. Please what can l use l am tired

What is an effective way to cure Eczema in children? My grandbaby has had eczema since she was a baby, she is now 4. She is constantly breaking out resulting in oozing, dry, bleeding, cracked skin with severe itching and dark spots. Please help

Is eczema a form a Herpes? I've tried every remedy. I think I have found the right remedies but its just the skin renewing its self. I thinks its a virus and need the right herbal combination to kill it.
