Burdock General

Burdock is a medicinal Herb. It is a relative of the Feverfew and Dandelion. Burdock possesses Alterative, Desmutagenic, Diuretic and Antirheumatic properties. The Alterative property of Burdock root is useful in treating a number of Chronic Degenerative Diseases. All parts of the Burdock plant are useful.
The Burdock root is the most powerful medicinally. The root contains many vital nutrients. The presence of vital nutrients in the root makes it a good detox formula. It filters harmful toxins from the Body. It expels the unwanted fluids from the Body through Urination and Sweating. Detoxification regulates the blood flow to the Brain. The increased blood circulation benefits the Skin. It cures Skin diseases like Fungus, Bacterial cultures, Boils, Carbuncles, Psoriasis, Acne and Eczema. Burdock root prevents the formation and growth of Cancer Cells.
Burdock has a good amount of Vitamin C. It is beneficial in treating Scaly Skin. It purifies the Skin, makes it smooth and gives a fair complexion.

Water Retention General

There are many causes for water retention as mentioned above. Sometimes the cause cannot be identified. But, if you can diagnose the cause, some useful tips to accurately prescribe a remedy are offered below.
Dandelion. It is a herbal diuretic. Its advantage is that it is rich in potassium. As you know, excessive urination may result in depletion of Potassium. This herb boasts of having Potassium. So, the depletion is taken care of. You may safely use it even if the cause is not known.
Celery. you may use the plant and or the seeds. They are both effective as a diuretic. It is a general diuretic. The diagnosis of the cause is not important.
Yucca Root. If the water retention is due to the malfunction of the Kidneys, then Yuuca root is the answer.
Devil’s Claw Tuber. Water Retention may be caused by the clogging of the Lymph Nodes. This inactivity of the Lymph Nodes may cause the blood circulation to slow down, and hence result in the body retaining more water than necessary. Devil’s Claw Tuber is the answer.
Burdock Root. Water Retention may also be caused by an Allergic reaction. Something you ate or some medication you took. The body will produce Histamine and there will be fluid buildup. You will feel bloated and or congested. This condition will be relieved by Burdock Root. Burdock is an excellent Anti histamine. It is fast acting. Gives quick relief. The over the counter Anti histamine medication available with the chemists are themselves a major cause of water retention. This condition is also taken care of by Burdock Root.
Single Herb

Burdock for Candidiasis

Take Burdock Root decoction. Drink 2-3 cups a day. Drink 2 to 3 cups a day.
Or have Burdock Root capsules.
Else Burdock Root extract.
Burdock Tincture: Take 20-45 drops 3 times a day.

Burdock for Arthritis

Prepare Root decoction. Drink 3-4 cups a day.
Or have Root extract capsules.

Burdock for Ascites

Prepare a tea of Burdock root. Drink 2-3 times a day.

Burdock for Belching

Prepare dried Burdock tea. Drink twice a day.
OR : Have Burdock capsules.

Burdock Root for Water Retention

Take dried root of Burdock. Grind. Have one teaspoon with lukewarm water daily.
OR : Make a decoction of Burdock roots. Take one cup daily.

Burdock as Blood Purifier

Prepare a decoction of Burdock root. Take one cup once a day for 15 days. It cleans the blood. It is a very effective remedy for teenagers.

Burdock for Blemishes

Prepare Burdock tincture. Have 2 to 4 ml a day.

Burdock for Purifying Blood

Prepare a Root decoction of Burdock. Drink thrice a day.

Burdock for Diuresis

Prepare a tea made from the root of Burdock. Have this tea two times daily.
Or: Fresh Burdock are used to make Vegetables which is also good for Diuresis.

Burdock as an Alterative

Burdock has an affinity for the Metabolism as a whole.

Burdock for Stomach Problems

Boil 4 tablespoons of dried Burdock root in 4 cups of water for 15 minutes. Drink One cup throughout the day.

Burdock for Ulcers

Make the poultice of Burdock root and apply on the affected area.

Burdock for Wounds

Take some Burdock leaves dried up by the fire. Apply over the wounds. It reduces Inflammation and also ease pain.

Burdock for Bruises

Grind some Burdock leaves and put on to a bruise to get immediate relief.

Chamomile ( Babunah ) Oil for Facial Neuralgia

Add 4 to 5 drops of Chamomile ( Babunah ) Oil in one liter of boiling water. Inhale the steam once a day. Preferably night time is good to do this process.

Burdock Root For Joint Pain

Take 1 ½ tablespoons of dried Burdock root. You can also take 3 tablespoons of freshly chopped Burdock root. Put them in 4 cups of water in a bowl on the flame. Boil it for 5 minutes. Then, allow it to cool. Steep the decoction for 30 minutes. Strain and drink it warm. For best results, take this tea daily.
Or
Squeeze the juice from fresh Burdock root. Mix one tablespoon of juice with a glass of water. Drink this mixture daily.
Or
Consume tincture of Burdock root. Put 5 drops into a glass full of water. Consume daily.
Or
Boil Burdock root in 200 ml of water. Boil it until the root becomes soft. Wrap this soften Burdock root in a cotton cloth. Apply it topically on the pain area. This may help in reducing Joint pain.

Burdock for Abscess

Boil few roots of Burdock in 150 ml of water for 10 minutes. Strain it off. Drink this decoction daily to cure the Abscess.

Burdock for Endometriosis

It supports the Hormonal Balance and detoxify the Body.
Take 1 tablespoon of dried Burdock root. Add it to boiling water, boil it for 10 min and take this tea once in a day.

Burdock for Estrogen Dominance

It detoxify the Liver and also balances the levels of Estrogen in the Body.
Take 10 drops of mother tincture 2 times in a day.

Burdock for Gout

Burdock reduces inflammation associated with gout and arthritis.
Have a cup of Burdock root decoction daily.

Herbal Treatment For Detox Tea for Cancer

Basic
Mix the following dry, powdered herbs and store in a jar:-
Burdock Root : 6 parts
Sheep Sorrel : 4 parts
Slippery Elm Bark : 1 part
Rhubarb Root : 1 teaspoon.

Add One tablespoon each of Flax seeds, Fennel seeds, Fenugreek seeds, Burdock Root and half tablespoon Liquorice in 4 cups of water. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add Peppermint. Let it cool. Strain and bottle. This is an awesome Liver cleansing drink.

Herbal Treatment For Hepatitis E 1

Prepare a decoction of the leaves of Burdock and Dandelion . Take two times a day.

Herbal Treatment For Psoriasis 1

Take Burdock Seeds and Chamomile flowers in equal quantity. Boil. Strain. Add Honey to taste. Have 2-3 tablespoon two times a day.

Herbal Treatment For Bursitis 2

Prepare a tea by adding two teaspoon of Burdock roots and 1/2 tablespoon of Lobeiila leaves. Take two times a day.

Herbal Treatment For Blood Purifier 3

Take dried flowers of Red Clover and dried root of Burdock. Crush them to make powder. Take quarter tsp of it with lukewarm water twice a day.

Herbal Treatment For Small Pox 1

Take Burdock root, Yellow Dock root and Golden seal in equal quantity. Prepare a tea. Have bath with this tea.

Herbal Treatment For Difficult Menses 3

Take 2 tablespoons of Chaste Berry ( Nirgundi ) and One tablespoon each of burdock root and Red Clover ( Tripatra ).
Put all these herbs in some water and bring a boil.
Steep for 15-20 minutes and strain.
Drink cool 2-3 times a day before meals for 15-20 days.
Use with breaks to rest the system.

Herbal Treatment For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding 4

Take the following herbs-
2 tablespoons each of dried Liquorice ( Mulethi ) root and Wild Yam root.
One tablespoon of powdered Burdock root and Comfrey root.
2-3 tablespoons of Dandelion root.
Put these herbs in 4-5 cups of cold water and simmer for 15 minutes in a covered pot.
Drink thrice daily for 3-4 months.

I have been on dialysis for 2 years . What can I do to get my kidney functioning again. I have high blood pressure. I would like to get off dialysis if possible. Will taking burdock daily help me.

I would really appreciate your input on this matter.

Viol It is suggested you take the following herbs--
Varuna ( Crateva Nurvala ) : Take one capsule everyday for a month.
This a great diuretic herb. And will take care of your kidneys. Another herb which is super effective for you is -- Gokharu ( Land Caltrops ), Buy it's tincture from a homeopathic store, it's name is Tribulus Terristris. take 5 drops of this tincture in a glass of water for a month. Gokharu is the best herb for those who are going through Dialysis.
