Description
Steatorrhea is a disease of the Pancreas and the Metabolism.
The excessive excretion of Fat in the feces that causes foul smell is Steatorrhea.
The intestines are not able to absorb the fat completely. It occurs due to Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency and Malabsorption Syndrome.
In both cases the fat is not absorbed properly in the Gut. An oily or bulky layer of fat may be seen even when the feces are flushed. The feces contains foul smell.
