The herb should be taken in moderation, else it may lead to abdominal pain or even miscarriage in females.
If any other part other than the ripe fruit is eaten, it may cause stomach ache and contact with foliage may cause Skin rashes and inflammation.

Description
Physalis Alkekengi is a red- orange fruit , also known as Bladder Cherry. Physalis means “ Bladder”, this herb is very rich in Vitamin A and C, Iron,Citric acid, Lycopene, Potassium and many other nutrients.
Also called “Winter Cherry” and “ Chinese Lantern ”
The plant is an indigenous to Central and Southern Europe, China and Indochina.
Most effective in curing : Kidney Stones, Urinary Tract problems and Gout, Fever and eliminates excess of Uric acid (expels uric acid crystals )
The herb is also known to treat Prostate Enlargement.

The herb is found to be sour, bitter and unpleasant in taste.
Appearance and Habitat : It is perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the nightshade family, as that of tomatoes.
The fruit is round - red berry with a size to that of a marble. When dried, the blood red color fades to brownish red.The plant is usually 25—50 cm in height.
Grows from plains to the lower slopes of mountains. Well grown in cultivated lands and vineyards. Prefers well drained soils.
The plant wraps up each fruit in its own orange colored paper-bag ( Calyx), which is the most notable feature of the herb.
The Calyx is toxic and should not be eaten. Avoid consuming raw leaves, as they are poisonous. Only fruit is the edible part of this herb.
The fruit is picked up, when fully ripe and can be consumed fresh, juiced or dried or as jam.
Combines Well With : Burdock, Liquorice.
Note : Withania Somnifera ( Ashwagandha) is also known by the same name i.e. " Winter Cherry " . So, please don ' t get confused. Read the entire herb thoroughly before using it

Bladder Cherry for Female Infertility
Grind dried Bladder Cherry to make fine powder. Have this powder with warm Milk. Use it for 1 week when your menstrual cycle gets completed.
Attention : Use only when your Menstrual Period is over.
Consume 4-5 Bladder Cherry fruits in a day.
