Tastes
Taste is one of the five senses that we have.
It is the sensation of a flavor sensed in the mouth and throat when something is taken in our mouth. The sense of taste makes it possible for us to recognize what is it.

Sweet - Builds tissues, calms nerves
Sour - Cleanses tissues, increases absorption
of minerals
Salty - Moistens or lubricates the tissues,
stimulates digestion
Bitter - Detoxifies the tissues
Pungent - Stimulates digestion and metabolism
Astringent Absorbs water,tightens tissues,dries

Sweet : This taste is known to increase the bulk ( muscles, fat, blood, marrow ), moisture, and weight in the body.
The sweet taste is beneficial for the skin, hair, and complexion.
It quickens the repair of wounds.
The taste increases saliva, helps to get rid of irritation of mucous membranes
It also relieves the burning sensations and thirst.
AVOID if you have excess fat, or you suffer from a high level toxicity in the body.
Sour : This taste energizes the body, stimulates digestion, improves circulation, strengthens the heart.
It also relieves thirst, maintains acidity in the body, sharpens the senses, and helps in the extraction of minerals from food.
The taste nourishes all the vital tissues except the reproductive tissues.
AVOID if you suffer from itching or any Skin Disorder, excessive heat,congestion.
Not to be taken in hot and damp conditions.
Salty : The taste improves digestion, lubricates tissues, liquefies mucous.
Maintains an optimum mineral balance in the body.
Helps in the elimination of wastes, and calms the nerves.

Bitter taste is a powerful detoxifying agent.
It is also helpful in reducing weight, water retention, skin rashes, fever, burning sensations and nausea.

Astringent : This taste tones tissues, reduces sweating and cools down the excessive heat in the body.It i also known to stop bleeding.
Astringent taste helps in in combating excess bleeding, sweat, diarrhea, leucorrhea, etc.
This taste tones the loose and prolapsed tissues.
AVOID If you have constipation, or blockages of any kind in the body.
