Description
Argyria is a disease of the Skin.
The discoloration of the Skin caused by deposition of silver in excess on the Skin is Argyrosis.
The Skin turns blue or grayish black.
Types of Argyria
Localized Argyria : It may occur in the Mucous membranes of the Conjunctiva ( in the Eye ). It may also occur on the Skin, in patches. Certain Medications, Nasal Sprays or Tooth fillings maybe the cause.
Universal Argyria : Ingestion and Excessive exposure to Silver, may cause Universal Argyria.
