Side Effects, Risk Factors of, and Cautions for Commiphora Mukul
Guggul is safe if used in suggested doses for short periods. If taken in high doses it may cause side effects, some examples are given below.

If massive dosages are taken for long time, it may cause Low Libido and reduces the Semen production.

Guggul is good for acne. However, excess use of Guggul may cause allergic reactions like Rashes and Itchy Skin.
Avoid use during Pregnancy and Breast Feeding : It may cause problems. It is a uterine stimulant.
Bleeding Problems: It may disrupt the coagulation system. Body may fail to clot blood. It may lead to Bruising and Bleeding.
High doses of Guggul may result in hormonal imbalance. This may lead to different form of cancers in females, such as, Breast Cancer, Uterine Cancer and Ovarian Cancer.
It is recommended, not to take Guggul if you have Thyroid Problems. It may aggravate the disease.
Avoid use after any kind of Surgery.
Avoid use if you are taking any heart medicine.
Description
Commiphora Mukul is a Tree.
It is perennial.
Gugulipid, the remedy used for herbal treatment, is extracted from the sticky resinous sap secreted from the bark of Commiphora Tree. It is a small thorny tree. It prefers arid to semi arid climate. It can grow in poor soil conditions.
It grows up to 2 M.
Best used for Heart Disease, Brain Stroke, High Cholesterol.
Note : Nitroglycerin is a Chest Pain relieving medicine used by people with Heart ailments. A combination of Commiphora Mukul and Inula Racemosa is considered more effective than Nitroglycerin in relieving the Chest Pain.
Single Herb
Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) for Backache
Take 2 capsules of Commiphora Mukul thrice a day.
Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) for Anemia
Take 1/2 teaspoon powder of Commiphora Mukul. Add one teaspoon each of honey and Lime juice to it. Take it in the morning before breakfast.
Burn the gum of Commiphora Mukul , inhale the smoke.
Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Commiphora Mukul in warm water. Gargle two times a day.
Have 1/2 teaspoon powder of Commiphora Mukul with lukewarm water once in a day before meal.
Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) for Obesity
Prepare a powder of Commiphora Mukul . Take 1/2 teaspoon with lukewarm water.
Have Commiphora Mukul Capsules two times a day ( 500 mg )
Prepare a gum decoction of Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ). Drink 30 ml of it twice a day.
Grind gum of Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) to make powder. Add half tsp powder in a cup of lukewarm water. Gargle with it.
Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) for Asthma
Inhale the fumes of burned Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) resin.
Dip 5 g Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) in water for 3 hours. Rub it on your Teeth and Gums. Use it regularly for 10 days.
Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) for Plague
Put 3-4 g Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) gum over Cow dung cake. Burn the Cow dung cake. The smoke coming out will purify the environment and cures Plague.
Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) for Scrofula
Make paste of Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) with water. Apply it over Scrofula affected area.
OR : Take 3 g Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) with 1 tsp jaggery twice a day.
Gargle with the decoction of Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) twice a day.

Commiphora Mukul ( Guggul ) is especially helpful for oily skin.
It decreases redness and inflammation of Acne and Pimples.
Take 2 tablets twice daily for 3 months.

Take 1 teaspoon of Commiphora Mukul powder with one cup of lukewarm water. Drink it, once a day before meals.
Take Commiphora Mukul gum powder. Add half teaspoon of this powder in one cup of lukewarm water. Gargle with it.
