Description
Syncope is a disease of the Heart.
The lack of oxygen in the brain that causes loss of consciousness is Syncope.
It occurs due to sudden and temporary loss of blood flow in the Brain. It may be associated with decreased Heart rate or sudden fall in Blood Pressure. It is a result of temporary failure of the Nervous system.
Types of Syncope
Cardiac Syncope : It is caused by Heart disorder that interrupts the flow of blood in the Brain. It causes Heart problems, Arrhythmia, Blood Clots and Heart failure.
Cardio Neurogenic or Vasvaogal Syncope : It occurs due to a sudden fall in the Blood Pressure. There is Vasomotor in the brain stem that regulates the Neurological reflex. It controls the contraction of Blood Vessels. In Vasovaogal Syncope the blood suddenly drops and pools in the Legs.
Situational Syncope : It occurs in particular situations only. Panic attacks, Stress, Drug abuse, Forceful Coughing, Forcefully releasing Stool lead to Situational Syncope. These conditions disrupt the Nervous System.
Neurologic Syncope : It causes Loss of Consciousness due to Neurological problems. Stroke, Seizure and Migraine may lead to Neurologic Syncope.
