The herb does not have any side effects as such. However, high consumption may cause intestinal gas. If not soaked overnight, then this herb might cause acidity. Just avoid eating chick peas, if you are suffering from Kidney stones or loose motion.

Dear Sudip
Chickpeas and lentils are low glycemic foods, that means you can have them being Diabetic. But, taking anything in regular can cause any low to moderate effect on the body's metabolism. Try to widen your eating options and take them periodically. Well, you can have Chickpea flour as a part of your diet. As a herbal treat, you can use Gymnema Sylvestre ( Gurmar ) herb for Diabetes. The homeopathic form of the herb can be used for treatment. Take Gymnema Sylvestre-mother tincture from a homeopathic shop. You can take 3-4 drops in a glass of water twice a day. It will regulate the blood sugar level and keep it balanced.
If you are on medication, consult your Health care provider before taking the medication. Write back for further queries. Check pages on Diabetes and Gurmar for detailed information on this website.
