If you are sensitive to legumes, avoid this herb, as it may cause allergy.
If taken in excess, it may cause Bloating, Intestinal gas, cramps and Diarrhea.
Abstain from over consumption of Chick Pea in case you have a history of Kidney stones,
Purine content in these beans may cause deposition of uric acid or increase in uric acid, which can further be a cause of Gout.
During Dysentery, avoid chickpeas, as these have high fiber content.
Note : Chick pea, if not soaked overnight may cause Acidity. So soaking is a must.

Chickpeas for Age Spots

Prepare a paste of 1/3 cup of Chickpeas. Apply on Spots. Leave it until it dries. Wash it off.

Chickpea for Diabetes

Mix Chickpea flour to your daily use flour in half proportion. Eat bread of mixed flour, thrice a day.

Chickpea for Anemia

Soak 50 gram of Chickpea overnight in water. Eat them as raw in the morning or fry them in ghee, once a day for a week.

Chickpea for Difficult Menses

Put the entire Chickpea plant in hot water for an hour. Take a bath in the form of a sitting steam bath.

Chickpea ( Chana ) for Leucoderma

The amino acids present in Chickpea ( Chana in India ) stimulate the Skin Pigment cells. Chickpea increases the formation of Melanin and reduces the White patches due to Leucoderma.
Soak a cup of Chickpeas in the water. Leave it overnight. Eat the sprouted Chickpeas the next morning. Do this daily for next 40 to 50 days.

Herbal Treatment For Sallow Skin 2

Mix 2 tsp each of Sandalwood powder, Fuller's Earth, Barley flour, Wheat flour and Chickpea flour. Add water to make paste. Apply it on your Skin. Wash with water when it gets dry.

Herbal Treatment For Sallow Skin 3

Take the following herbs :
Sandalwood : Chandan : Powder : 1 teaspoon
Chickpea : Chana : Flour : 1 teaspoon
Barley : Jau : Flour : half teaspoon
Wheat : Gehun : Flour : half teaspoon
Mix all. Add Rose water to make paste. Apply on the face and arms. Keep it until it dries and wash with cool water.
Note : You may add Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti).

Herbal Treatment For Dark Underarms 2

Take a handful of Gram flour. Add few drops of Lemon Juice and a pinch of Turmeric with 3-4 tablespoon of Yogurt. Make a paste. Apply it to the underarms for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Herbal Treatment For Dark Circles 2

Take One tablespoon Lemon ( Nimbo ) juice, One fresh Tomato ( Tamatar ), a pinch of Turmeric ( Haldi ) and Chickpea ( Chana ).
Make a fine paste by grinding all the ingredients.
Apply it around your eyes and keep for 15 minutes.
Now rinse off with water.
Repeat 2-3 times a week to get good results.

Herbal Treatment For Frizzy Hair 10

Mix Fuller's Earth, Vinegar and Chickpea flour in 4:1:4 ratio. Apply this mixture on your Hair. Wash after 1 hour.

Herbal Treatment For Kidney Stones 12

Roast Some Chickpea ( Chana ) Flour and make a soup.
Now Mix One tablespoon powdered Pomegranate seeds and drink.
Repeat daily atleast for a month.

Herbal Treatment For Dull Skin 1

Take one teaspoon of each Chickpea ( Channa ) flour and Turmeric ( Haldi ). Add water to make paste. Apply over affected parts. Let it dry. Rub it with the help of water. Wash with normal water.

Herbal Treatment For Skin Tan 2

Chickpea Flour ( Besan ) is a good remedy for tanning. If we add little Turmeric ( Haldi ) in 2 tablespoons of Chickpea Flour ( Besan ), it becomes an excellent mixture for the Skin. Make a paste of it by adding little water or Milk ( Dudh ). Apply it on affected parts. After 5 minutes, rub it for 10 to 15 minutes and let it dry. Rinse it with normal water. It removes your Tanning and makes your Skin soft, Shiny.

Herbal Treatment For Dull Skin 4

Take sun dried Orange Peel ( Santre Ka Chilka ). Powder them. Add one tablespoon of powder and one tablespoon of Chickpea flour ( Besan ) in Yogurt ( Dahi ). Mix them for 5 minutes. Apply it over the affected part and leave it for 10 minutes. Massage with finger tips in upward direction for 10 minutes. Again, leave it for 10 minutes. Wash with normal water. Do it daily and feel the difference.

Herbal Treatment For Dandruff 32

The Antifungal property of Chickpea ( Chana in India ) helps to inhibit fungal infection on the Scalp. Yogurt ( Dahi in India ) helps to clears the Scalp and treats Dandruff.
Take 2 tablespoons Chickpea ( Chana ) flour. Add curd to make a paste. Massage scalp with this mixture. Keep it for half an hour. Rinse with fresh water. Do this twice a week.

The herb does not have any side effects as such. However, high consumption may cause intestinal gas. If not soaked overnight, then this herb might cause acidity. Just avoid eating chick peas, if you are suffering from Kidney stones or loose motion.

Chick peas are wonderful health wise but apart from the side effect of bloating and gas in some they could cause an increase in Uric acid which in anyone with kidney disease could increase the creatinine.

Hi!
This is narayan from india.
I am having 65 Grams of chick peas (140 Grams after boiling) every day in my lunch.I have started to have constipation. when i discontinue chick peas consumption my constipation stops.
How to eat 100 grams(210 Grams boiled) with out constipation ?
