Acidic Herbs


Human body is made up of two electrolytes – Acidic and Alkaline ( Basic ).
Acids are chemical agents. They taste sour in aqueous solutions. They release Hydrogen ions when added to water. Any substance having properties of an Acid or containing acid or having a pH below 7 is termed as Acidic.
pH scale is used to measure the Acidic or Alkaline ( Basic ) nature of a substance. It ranges from 0-14. A pH of 0 indicates high level of Acidity. A pH of 14 is most Basic or Alkaline. A pH of 7 is neutral.
Ideal Blood pH level is 7.35 or 7.45, which is Alkaline. The pH level of Stomach is 3.5. It helps the food to break down properly. Acidic bodies are unhealthy. When the Body is overly acidic, it leads to Illness and Bacterial growth.
Too much acidity causes Bone and Muscle deterioration. This is because, Bones contain Calcium. When Body becomes too Acidic, this Calcium is used by body tissues to restore blood’s pH balance. This leads the Calcium to deplete from Bones, making them weak and then Porous.
Too much Acid, increases the risk of Cancer, Liver Problems, and Heart Diseases.
Getting enough of Calcium, Vitamin D and Magnesium can help to balance the Acid-Base balance in the Body. The Body is constantly producing acids. Eating more fruits and vegetables may help in balancing pH levels within the Body. As per balanced diet norms, a person should consume 20% acidic food and 80% Alkaline food daily.
Our digestive system requires Acid to break down food while Immune system requires Alkaline foods for proper functioning. Keeping a balance is the key.
You may get health problems by poor pH balance as:
Cavity, Gingivitis, Sciatica, Low back Pain, Dyspnea, Cough, Chronic Fatigue, Respiratory Problems, Immune Deficiency, Heart Problems, Arrhythmia, Weight Gain, Obesity, Diabetes, Bladder and Kidney Infections, Nausea, Diarrhea, Headache, Insomnia, Joint Pains, Aching Muscles, Acne, Osteoporosis.
To prevent and cure the problem of Acidity, make following changes to your diet:
Avoid and limit the intake of Acidic food as Grains, Sugar, Fish, Dairy Products, Sodas and Sweetened Beverages, High-Protein foods and supplements.
ATTENTION If your blood pH reaches to 6.95, then it may cause coma and or death.
