Materia Medica for Thyme

Thyme General
Thyme is a small, shrubby and an evergreen plant. It is perennial. It is native to southern Europe. It is cultivated in Europe and North America. It blooms from April to July. It grows to a height of fifteen inches. It is a strong, spicy taste and odor herb. It acts as a preservative.
The stems are stiff. It bears gray green leaves. It has blue lavender pink whitish flower.
It contains essential oils, alpha-pinene, flavonoids, beta carotene, geraniol, limonene, camphor, citral, amino acids, caffeic, caprylic, chlorogenic, cinnamic acid, gallic, vanillic and other essential fatty acids, salicylates, tannin, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc, B-vitamins and vitamin C.
It is best for snakebites, headaches and the poisons of marine creatures. Roman soldiers use this herb to maintains their courage and strength. Tea made from Thyme's leaves prevented nightmares .
Thyme is best for cough and relieves chest congestion It treats upper respiratory tract infections and lung disorders. The herb is wonderful for the deep seated chest infections. It loosens and expels mucous congestion from the lungs and head. It treats infections of the upper respiratory passages. It effective remedy for sore throats, croup, whooping cough, bronchitis, laryngitis and asthma.

Single Herb

Thyme ( Ajavayan ke phul) for Cancer
Take one tablespoon of Thyme with one tablespoon of honey. Have 3-4 times a day.
Thyme ( Ajavayan ) for Cold, Flu
Boil the herb in a cup of water.
Add some Honey for taste and drink warm.
It also reduces Fever.
Thyme ( Ajvayan ) for Altitude Sickness
Prepare a decoction of Thyme seeds. Have a cup once a day.
Thyme ( Ajavayan Ke Phul ) for Cuts
Prepare tea from Thyme ( Ajavayan Ke Phul ). Use it for wash cuts twice or thrice a day.
Thyme ( Ajavayan Ke Phul ) for Whooping Cough
Prepare tea from Thyme ( Ajavayan Ke Phul ). Drink it 3 to 4 times a day.
Thyme ( Ajavayan Ke Phul ) for Neuralgia
Take cotton cloth. Fill with dried Thyme ( Ajavayan Ke Phul ). Place it over affected part for half an hour.

Take Lobelia, Thyme and Ephedra.
Prepare decoction. Drink 2-3 times a day.
Herbal Combination for Whooping Cough 1
Prepare a decoction of Wild Cherry, Sundew, Coughwort, Thyme . Take two times a day.
Herbal Combination for Candidiasis 1
Prepare Thyme and Fenugreek Tea. Drink it 3-4 cups a day.
Or Let it cool. Wash the infection with this tea.
Herbal Combination for Athlete's Foot 1
Prepare a paste of raw Tomatoes, Basil leaves, Celery, Carrot, Dill, Fennel, Sage and Thyme. Apply this paste on the affected area.
Herbal Combination for Bad Breath 4
Add 6 drops of each (Thyme, Tea Tree Oil , Chamomile, Peppermint) in Brandy. Use as a mouth wash.
Herbal Combination for Emphysema 3
Add Basil, Hyssop and Thyme oil in One jug of boiled water. Take steam bath.
Herbal Combination for Strep Throat 2
Take 30 g leaves of each Lime, Thyme and Geranium. Boil them in Olive Oil. Apply it to your Throat at night.
NOTE : Cover your Throat after application.

Take some boiling water in a bowl.
Put 8-10 drops of essential oils of Sage and Thyme ( Ajavayan ) in it.
Cover your head and face with a towel and inhale the aroma.

Take the following herbs on equal quantity :

Basil : Tulsi : Leaves : Dried : Powdered
Rosemary : Rusmary : Dried : Powdered
Thyme : Ajavayan : Powdered
Ginger : Adrak : Dried : Powdered
Mix all ingredients. Have half teaspoon with milk at night daily.

Almond : Badam : Oil : 20 gram
Jojoba : Oil : 20 gram
Tea Tree : Oil : 10 gram
Thyme : Ajavayan : Oil : 10 gram
Patchouli : Oil : 10 gram
Rosemary : Rusmary : Oil : 20 gram
Spikenard : Jatamasi : Oil : 20 gram
Put all oils in a glass bottle. Cover. Leave it for a week. After a week, massage your scalp with this preparation twice a week. It is an effective formula to cure hair problems.
