Description
Pneumonia is a disease of the Lungs.
The Bacterial or Viral infection that causes inflammation of the Lungs is Pneumonia. There are a number of bacteria or viruses, that causes Pneumonia. People with weak immune system are more prone to Pneumonia. It affects the air sacs ( Alveoli ). They get filled with fluid or pus and causes difficulty in breathing. Pneumonia causes Cough, Chills, Chest congestion and Fever.
It may vary from a mild situation to a life threatening condition.
Types of Pneumonia:
1.Community Acquired Bacteria: It is further divided into more categories which are listed below.
(A)Bacterial Pneumonia: Bacteria which causes Pneumonia are Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Staphylococcus Aureus, Escherichia Coli, and Haemophilia Influenzae.
(B)Viruses: Viral infection causes Cold and Flu, but it may cause Pneumonia too. It is mild but may turn to a life threatening condition.
(C)Fungi: Fungi is found in soil and dropping of birds or animals. People with weak immune system, are more prone to get Pneumonia from fungal infections.
2. Hospital Acquired Pneumonia: Some times when people get hospitalized due to some other illness, they get Pneumonia. At that time their body becomes weak and it gets easy for the bacteria to attack the body and body fails to fight against it.

A few common bacteria that causes Pneumonia are Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, bacteria. Fungi is also considered as pathogens that cause Pneumonia.

Liver Failure
Kidney Failure
Respiratory Failure
Differential Diagnosis: Both Pneumonia and Tuberculosis are diseases of the Lungs, But they have different consequences. Tuberculosis is more contagious as compared to Pneumonia and spreads at a faster rate through Coughing and Sneezing.
Pneumonia is an inflammatory disease that attacks air sacs or alveoli of the Lungs. The cause of Pneumonia are Bacterial, Viral or Fungal infection. It causes Headache, And if Pneumonia left untreated, it may cause Blood Infection ( Septicaemia ).
Tuberculosis is caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. The bacteria enter through air and attack the Lungs, and may affect the other organs too like Skeletal System and Urinary Tract. The immune system fails to fight against the bacteria, which results into Necrosis and Fibrosis. This will affect the Lung's functionality and cause Difficulty in breathing, Haemoptysis, Chronic Cough and Fatigue.
Materia Medica for Pneumonia
Single Herb Turmeric ( Haldi ) bears Antibacterial and Antiviral effects. These two, help to fight with the infection due to which Pneumonia occurred. Thus, the affected person's system gets all right.
Mix Turmeric ( Haldi ) and Clarified Butter ( Ghee ) to make a thick paste. Leave it overnight. From the very next day, start drinking a glass of warm milk by adding half a teaspoon of the paste. Drink it at bed time is very beneficial.
In Addition : Take 2 tablespoons of Turmeric ( Haldi ). Add hot water to make a paste. Now put the paste in a thick cloth. Fold the cloth. Place the cloth over the affected person's chest and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes.
Make garlic paste. Apply externally on chest, twice a day.
Prepare a decoction of the roots of Acacia Ferruginea. Take it twice a day.
Drink 1 cup of Fenugreek seed tea thrice a day. You may add few drops of Lime juice in it for a change in taste.
Massage Tourist tree oil on the patient's rib cage. Cover with warm cloth.
Prepare a decoction of Achyranthes Aspera plant. Drink 20 ml of it two times a day.
Add 1 tsp Coconut oil in a a cup of Coffee. Add Honey instead of Sugar. Drink twice a day.
Boil few fresh roots and barks of Kigelia Africana ( Jhar Fanoos ) in 150 ml of water for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain it off. Regularly drink it to get relief from Pneumonia.
Take five Basil leaves and extract its juice. Mix a pinch of Black Pepper powder in it. Have it after every six hours.
Take one tablespoon of Coconut Oil ( or any other carrier oil ) and add five drops of Cypress Essential Oil in it. Mix them well. Add this oil blend to a warm bathtub and soak in it for 15 minutes. Repeat the process five times a day.
Take one tablespoon of Coconut Oil ( or any other carrier oil ) and add eight drops of Niaouli Essential Oil in it. Mix them well. Add this oil blend to a warm bathtub and soak in it for 15 minutes. Repeat the process four times a day.

Boil 1 teaspoon of Plantago and Thyme in 100 ml of water. Add a half teaspoon of Sugar and Lemon ( Nimbu ) juice in this water. Boil it till it reduces to half. Strain it off. Drink a cup of this warm decoction sip by sip in every hour to get cured.
