-Long term use may cause Tachyphylaxis or Hemodynamic instability.

Drug Interaction :
-It may interact with Antidepressant and High Blood Pressure medications. It causes the blood pressure to rise abnormally high. In some cases it may even cause death.
-If you are taking Ephedra then do not take Antiseizure and Cariovascular medications as it contains Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine which inhibits its action.

Ephedra General

Ephedra is called Amsania in HIndi. It belongs to the Ephedraceae family.
Ephedra contains Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine. Together they stimulate the central Nervous system and open up the airways.

It regulates the Blood Pressure.

Decoction: Make a tea.
Put raw Ephedra stem in a cup of water. Boil it. Simmer for l0 minutes and remove the foam from the surface of decoction. Continue boiling till the decoction is clear. Consume 1 teaspoon per day.
Best when consumed with Honey.

Ephedra ( Amsania ) as a Diuretic

Add 1-2 tablespoon dried Ephedra ( Amsania ) in One cup cold water and drink every morning.

Ephedra as an Aphrodisiac

Ephedra tea has an Aphrodisiac effect. It stimulates the Central Nervous System.
Prepare a decoction of dried Ephedra stem in one cup of water and add 1 teaspoon of Honey in it.

Prepare decoction. Drink 2-3 times a day.

Prepare a decoction of Chinese Wild Ginger Root, Ephedra Stem and Cinnamon Twig. Take 150 ml, once a day for 2 days at bed time.

Ginger
Chinese Wild Ginger
Schisandra
White Peony
Pinellia
Liquorice
