Side Effects, Risk Factors of, and Cautions for Epazote

Epazote is poisonous if taken in large quantities, but no one can quite define what amount "large" constitutes. Little amounts used in meals, and herb teas have not reported side effects, but the herb is considered as an emmenagogue, so do not use in pregnancy. Epazote oil is highly toxic. Do not use it internally. Avoid use during pregnancy.
Excessive use may cause Diabetes.

Epazote for Respiratory Diseases

Prepare a decoction of the leaves of Epazote and take half cup once every day on an empty stomach for three days.

Epazote (Sugandha Vastuka) is an effective herbal remedy to treat white patches on the skin.
