Autoimmune Diseases are the diseases of the Immune System.
A number of disorders caused by malfunctioning of the Immune System are considered as Autoimmune Diseases.
The Immune System is a natural defense system of the body.
When it finds some foreign bodies or germs trying to invade the body, it tries to throw them out of the body. But sometimes the immune system attacks the healthy cells by mistake. It causes impairment of the body parts and gives rise to an Autoimmune Disease.
Causes of Autoimmune Diseases Malfunctioning of Immune System
The Autoimmune Diseases are dealt with separately Leucoderma : If the skin loses its actual color, it results into white patches on the Skin, known as Leucoderma or Vitiligo.
Scleroderma : Any disorder that causes hardening of the connective tissues of the Skin is Scleroderma.
Spondylitis : The inflammation of spinal Joints is Spondylitis.
Wheat Allergy : In this disease the immune system misunderstands wheat as a threat that causes allergic reactions. It is known as Wheat Allergy.
Grave's Disease : When the Thyroid Gland produces thyroid hormone in excess, it give rise to Graves's Disease.
Addison's Disease : In this disease the Adrenal gland fails to produce enough amount of Cristol and Aldosterone hormones.
Multiple Sclerosis : The disease that damages the nerve cells of the Brain and the Spinal Cord is Multiple Sclerosis.
Rheumatoid Arthritis : The joint inflammation causes damage to the surrounding tissues is Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Hashimoto's Thyroiditis : When the body stops the production of thyroid hormone, it is termed as Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.
Celiac Disease : When a person is allergic to the food containing gluten, then the condition is termed as Celiac Disease.
