I am interested in purchasing loquat but cant find where to purchase.

Dear Norma V
We do not deal with sales or purchase of any herb or herbal product. SO we can not comment on that. You would have to do a little research for this. You can buy this herb online or any near-by herbal store. Herbal products are available on e-commerce websites. We have moved your query to the Buy/Sell page of our website. Users post their contact details on that page for the purpose of buying or selling herbs. That is entirely a user affair. You may visit that page and look for the users selling the herb. Herbpathy.com has just provided the platform for communication for the users.

I live in South Florida. Loquat trees are common here. I use the leaf to make tea. My blood sugar is stable around 100. without any other medication. It was up around 160 before I started drinking the tea. This is what I do.
Lightly scrub the leaves with the rough side of cleaning sponge under running water (25 leaves)
Cut into smaller pieces. Boil in 1-1/4 gallon of water( 10 to 15 minutes of boiling) take off heat and let cool down to room temperature. Put a coffee filter in a sieve and filter the tea. Pour in Jar and store in fridge. Each batch lasts me a week.

Wondering if the leaves contain purines or teobromines?
Kathleen Grimsland ( United States )
22 Jul 2019
does the loquat leaf need to be fresh or can it be dried for tea?
23 Jul 2019
Well, Kathleen. Loquat leaves can be used both ways. However, fresh leaves are used for making tea. The leaves have to be cleaned first or the tea will be bitter otherwise. Gently scrape off the furry underside of the leaves. Then, mince the leaves and boil them for 15 minutes. After this, cover the tea and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain and drink it.

Is it available in Nigeria? If it is,what is the local name for loquat?

Hey Caroline. In the Igbo language, Loquat is often called Mkpochi. I have read this somewhere. Just confirm this name about the fruit.
