Description

Dryness is a disease of the Skin.
When skin lacks moisture it is Dryness.
The lack of moisture in the skin causes abnormally dry skin.
It often causes scaling and itching. Dry skin causes cracks, which increases the risk of Bacterial or Fungal Infection.

Materia Medica for Dry Skin

Single Herb

Acacia Nilotica for Dryness

Chew a small portion of the gum.

Banana ( Kela ) for Dryness

Mash 2 Bananas properly. Apply it on the Dry Skin. Wash after 30 minutes.

Milk ( Dudh ) for Dryness

Apply Cold Milk over the skin to give relief from Dryness.

Lemon ( Nimbo ) for Dryness

Squeeze the juice of 2 Lemon ( Nimbo ). Add 2 teaspoons Sugar. Mix well. Apply on all over the body for 20 minutes. It gives you smooth and shiny skin.

Almond ( Badam ) Oil for Dryness

Take 2 tablespoons of Almond ( Badam ) Oil. Add 2 tablespoons of Buttermilk. Mix. Massage your body with this mixture at bed time. Wash with fresh water the next morning.

Honey ( Shehad ) for Dry Skin

Apply Honey on your Skin. Leave it for 30 minutes. Wash with cold water. Do not use soap while washing your face.
Massage your Skin using Olive oil. Its a good moisturizer.

Irish Moss for Burns

Make a salve of the plant and apply. It is good for Dry Skin also.

Avocado ( Makhanphal ) for Dry Skin

Avocado ( Makhanphal ) has good properties to treat dry skin.
It nourishes the skin very effectively.
Peel and Crush a fruit of Avocado ( Makhanphal ). Add one teaspoon Almond ( Badam ) oil. Mix. Apply it over body. Wash after 15 or 20 minutes.

Sesame ( Til ) Oil for Dry Skin

Apply Sesame ( Til ) Oil over dry skin for 15 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water.

Cucumber ( Kheera ) for Dry Skin

Cucumber is good moisturiser. Apply its juice on face to remove dryness.

Horse Chestnut for Dry Skin

Boil dried fruits of Horse Chestnut in water. Mash them in same water. Use it as a body lotion.

Yogurt ( Dahi ) for Dry Skin

Apply Yogurt ( Dahi ) all over your body 15 minutes before bath.

Turnip ( Shalgam ) for Dry skin

Boil the turnips. Take out the turnips from the boiled water after 15-20 minutes. Make vegetables of that turnip. Use that water to wash face and dip feet in it. It soften and repair the skin.

Mango ( Aam ) Seed for Dry Skin

Use butter made from Mango ( Aam ) Seed over skin. It gives natural care and shine to your skin.

Shea Butter for Dry Skin

Use Shea Butter rich Moisturiser. You may directly use fruit of Shea Tree to get this butter. Rub it over dry areas.

Almond ( Badam ) for Dry Skin

Apply Almond oil on your Dry Skin. Rub until it gets absorbed.

Withania Somnifera for Dry Skin

Prepare a tea of 3 to 5 gm teaspoon of root and drink 2 cups a day only.

Spikenard for Dry Skin

Prepare a paste from root powder of Spikenard with little water and apply it to the skin. It improves the skin texture.
Grind few leaves of Corchorus Capsularis ( Narincha ) to make out a paste. Apply a thin layer of this to your skin. Repeat this treatment daily to get the smooth and soft skin.

Zucchini for Dry Skin

Zucchini contains high water content. It helps in hydrating your skin and provides you a healthy skin.
Include one cup of thinly sliced Zucchini in your daily diet either in raw or cooked form.
Take three drops of Coconut Oil ( or any other carrier oil ) and add three drops of Palmarosa Essential Oil in it. Mix them well. Apply this oil blend over the affected areas. Repeat the process two times a day.

Borneo Mahogany Oil for Dry Skin

Put Tamanu Oil on cracked or dry skin for 2 weeks. It is an amazing remedy for Dry Skin and Acne.

Herbal Treatment For Dry Skin 1

Add half cup each of Cassia Auriculata bark, Wild Turmeric, one Cayenne pepper and One tablespoon Camphor in half litre heated Sesame oil. Boil. Cool and Strain. Massage the affected parts.

Mix Almond oil and Olive oil in equal ratio. Massage the Dry Skin with it.

Make a paste of Avacado and Papaya by taking them in equal quantity. Apply to the dry area for 15-20 minutes. Wash it with warm water.

Take Sesame oil and Olive oil in equal quantity. Add Mustard oil in half quantity. Apply it over the affected area.

Mix Epsom Salt with Olive oil in 1:2 ratio. Apply this mixture over dry Skin.

Chamomile Essential Oil soothes the Skin and reduces the Inflammation. Palmarosa Essential Oil balances the pH level of the Skin. Patchouli Essential Oil makes the Skin smooth and counters Dryness.
Take the following :
Chamomile Essential Oil : 2 to 3 drops
Palmarosa Essential Oil : 2 to 3 drops
Patchouli Essential Oil : 1 to 2 drops
Carrier Oil ( Jojoba, Coconut ) : 1 to 2 teaspoons
Combine all the above Essential Oils. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of any Carrier Oil in it. Mix well. Pour this Oil blend into warm bathing water. Soak your body into the water for 30 minutes and massage the affected Skin with the floating Oil droplets. Do this once daily.

Grind Papaya to make a paste, add 1 teaspoon of Honey ( Shehad ) and 1 teaspoon of Papaya paste into a bowl. Mix them well to make a paste. Gently apply this paste on your face. Leave it for 15 minutes. Now rinse off with lukewarm water. Repeat it once a day in the morning.

Herbal Treatment For Dry Skin 7

Prepare a paste by mixing 2 to 3 teaspoons of Ginseng Korean dried root powder, a teaspoon of Honey ( Shehad ) and few drops of Rosewater. Mix them together. Apply a thin layer of this paste to your skin and leave it for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with fresh water. Repeat this procedure daily to get best results.

Mix Aloe Vera ( Gheekumari ) gel, a pinch of Turmeric ( Haldi ) powder and 1 teaspoon fo Honey ( Shehad ) to make a paste. Apply this paste to your skin. Leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Repeat the process thrice a day to nourish and hydrate your skin.

Herbal Treatment For Dry Skin 10

Take two tablespoons of Coconut Oil ( or any other carrier oil ) and add four drops each of Lavender and Patchouli Essential Oil in it. Mix them well. Add this oil blend to a warm bathtub. Soak in it for 15 minutes. Repeat the process once a day.
It will soothe the inflamed skin and promote healing.

I tried a few of your remedies for Dry skin. The best I found was Lemon and Sugar.
It really helped and left my skin Smooth and soft.

I found Almond Oil beneficial as well. Good thing is that Almond Oil is as such available in market just buy and apply.

Drink Plenty of water every day.
Take 1 Cucumber, 1 Orange, 1 Lemon and a pinch of Baking Soda. Wash them and cut them into round pieces. Do not peel the skin. Add all in 3 L water. Have this water every day. This will help to detoxify your body. Do not add baking soda more than 3 days. Drink the water for rest of the 27 days. For dry skin apply coconut butter or coconut oil. But make sure it should be virgin. Add Zucchini to your daily diet.

Sir, I m 30 year old.
I have skin problem on my hand and foot,
i feel eaching to much, dry, crcking also....
I m taking treatment with docter from 7 month...but no relief...doctor say that ,i suffering from Khuskhi........
what i do...

Have just one single dose of Psorinum 10 M. Get it from a Homeopathy shop and take only 2 granules.
Do not repeat the dose and wait for 1 week. Also check your symptoms.

Dear Sivaraman.
your skin lacks vitamin A $ E. try to be ingesting demulcent herbs, they will moisten your skin. especially licorice root. as for the topical emolient, use coco-butter. Again always be taking water so that u will always be hydrated.
