Swelling is a disease of the Whole Body.
An abnormal enlargement of the Skin or other part of the Body is Swelling.
The excessive accumulation of fluid in the tissue causes Swelling.
Whenever blood vessels become leaky they release fluid into nearby tissues. The extra fluid collects in the tissue and cause Swelling.
It is more prominent in the legs, feet and the ankles. However, it can occur anywhere, even internally.

Materia Medica for Swelling

Single Herb

Jequirity for Swelling

Mix Coconut Oil in powdered Jequirity seeds. Apply the paste.
Make a paste of grind seeds. Apply it on the affected area.
Mix leaf juice of Jequirity with warm Gingelly oil. Apply.
Mix 1/4 cup Coconut Oil in 1 tablespoon Jequirity leaf juice. Apply.

Dill for Swelling

Mark some Castor Oil on the leaves of Dill.
Heat lightly and apply.

Cabbage for Swelling

Soften some cabbage leaves in warm water. Apply on the affected area. Bandage.

Butterfly Pea for Swelling

Grind some leaves. Add a little salt. Mix it. Apply paste on the affected part twice a day.

Pokeweed for Swelling

Prepare a lotion by diluting the tincture or by mixing the dried root powder in some water. This lotion can be applied to Swellings as a topical remedy.

Sensitive Plant for Swelling

Make leaves paste. Apply on the affected part once a day.

Horse Gram for Swelling

Roast some Horse Gram and tie in a cloth. Heat the swelled area with this.

Brinjal for Swelling

Roast pulp of Brinjal. Cool and apply as a bandage.

Swamp Pea for Swelling

Mix One tablespoon Honey in 5 tablespoons of Swamp Pea leaf juice. Apply on the head. It is quite useful for Dropsy
Boil the pulp with water. Use it as poultice.
OR : Pour 1 cup hot water in 1 tsp Aloe Vera juice. Apply it on the affected area.

Vetiver for Swelling

Make paste of Vetiver roorts. Apply on the affected part.

Flame Of The Forest for Swelling

Put a bark piece of Flame Of The Forest in Boiling water. Drink this water whenever feel thirsty.

Black Nightshade for Swelling

Take 5 to 6 Black Nightshade berries. Fry in Ghee. Take once a day.

Chicory ( Kasni ) for Swelling

Make an infusion of the Chicory Leaves. Take it two times a day .
OR For painful Swelling, apply the boiled leaves and flowers of Chicory ( Kasni ) wrapped in a cloth.

Sodom for Swelling

Apply the roasted leaves of Sodom over the affected area.

Ginger ( Adrak ) for Swelling

Take dried Ginger with Jaggery.

Achyranthes Aspera for Swelling

Prepare a decoction of the Achyranthes Aspera root. Filter it. Take it, twice a day.

Watermelon ( Tarbuz ) for Swelling

Taking Watermelon daily helps to reduce the Swelling.

Adhatoda Vasica for Swelling

Boil the leaves in 2 liters of water. Boil until the volume is reduced to 250 ml. Apply on the affected area by using a piece of cloth.
Warm the leaves on flame. Apply on the affected part when bearably hot.

Aristolochia Indica for Swelling

Apply leaf paste of Aristolochia Indica on the affected area.
Make thick paste of Bacopa Monnieri leaves juice with molten petroleum jelly. Apply it as an ointment over affected areas.
Attention : We can reuse hardened jelly for a long time that we get after each application.

Baliospermum Montanum for Swelling

Take roots. Make an ointment. Apply locally.
Make a paste of the roots. Apply it on the affected parts.

Agarwood ( Agar ) for Swelling

Apply a paste of Agarwood ( Agar ) On the affected part for half an hour.
Take one teaspoon Indian Sorrel ( Sarvajjaya ) Root decoction twice a day.
OR : Crush some fresh leaves. Apply on the affected part twice a day.

Tamarind ( Imli ) for Swelling

Apply the paste of the leaves of Tamarind over the Swelled area to get relief.

Flax ( Alsi ) for Swelling

Use Flax seed oil on the swollen parts for massage. It is best used for Facial Edema.

Blue Flag for Swelling

Apply poulticed root of Blue Flag on the affected area.

Drumstick For Swelling

Grind Drumstick roots to form paste. Apply it over Swelling.

Mistletoe for Swelling

Make a tea by boiling Mistletoe leaves in some water. Use it as a wash for swelling caused by mild frostbite.

Euphorbia Hirta for Swelling

Apply leaf paste of Euphorbia Hirta over Swelling.

Plantain for Swelling

Crush the Plantain root to obtain juice. Apply this juice over Swelling.

Vernonia Cinerea for Swelling

Drink 10 ml root decoction of Vernonia Cinerea once a day.

Carrot ( Gaajar ) for Swelling

Drink a cup of tea made from Carrot blossoms. It is a very effective remedy.
Crush Catnip ( Badranj Boya ) leaves and apply as a compress.

Common Milk Hedge for Swelling

Massage using latex of Common Milk Hedge over Swelling.

Clerodendrum ( Thuner ) Leaves for Swelling

Take fresh Clerodendrum ( Thuner ) Leaves. Grind them. Apply it on affected organ for 20 minutes.

Garlic ( Lehsun ) for Swelling

Peel 4 Garlic ( Lehsun ) pods. Swallow them on an empty stomach.

Radish ( Muli ) for Swelling

Take 5 to 6 fresh Radish ( Muli ) Leaves. Extract the juice. Dilute extract with one cup of water. Drink it on an empty stomach. It provides relief from Edema and general swelling.

Polianthes Tuberosa for Swelling

Apply root paste of Polianthes Tuberosa over swollen areas.

Long Pepper ( Pipali) for Swelling

Prepare a paste of Long Pepper and apllied directly to the swelled area.

Solanum Xanthocarpum for Swelling

Crush the fruit of Solanum Xanthocarpum to make paste. Apply it over Swollen parts.

Black Cumin for Swelling

Rub Black Cumin seed oil over affected area. Do not wash that area with soap for at least 6 hours.
Make paste using seeds of Bitter Gourd ( Karela ). Apply it over Swollen areas.

Confederate Rose for Swelling

Take 2 flowers of Confederate Rose. Pound them. Apply it over Swelling.

Bael ( Villi ) Leaves for Swelling

Collect fresh Bael ( Villi ) Leaves. Grind them. Apply it over affected part and bandage ( not so tight ). Do it twice a day. It eases the problem.

Fenugreek ( Methi ) for Swelling

Apply a leaf poultice on the affected skin.

Cluster Fig ( Gular ) for Swelling

Take the powdered bark of Cluster Fig ( Gular ). Add some water and make a paste. Apply.

Marking Nut ( Bhilawa ) for Joint Pain

Massage the aching joints with warm oil of Marking Nut ( Bhilawa ) to reduce pain and swelling.

Bay Essential Oil for Swelling

Take 2 drops of Bay Essential Oil mixed with Carrier Oil such as Coconut Oil. Gently massage over the affected areas. Repeat the process 2 times a day.

Indian Pennywort for Swelling

Grind Indian Pennywort leaves to extract its juice. Apply this extracted juice on the affected area.
It will provide relief from abnormal swelling.

Herbal Treatment For Swelling 1

Take 4 cups of broken Agarwood chips. Soak in 2 litre water over night. Next day boil it till the water is reduced to half litre. Now grind the chips separately and again boil with the decoction for 10 Minutes. Filter. Heat with half litre each of Coconut Oil and Cow's Milk. Add One cup each of Wild Turmeric, Rinds of Terminalia Bellirica and 2 cups each of Cassia Auriculata and Southernwood flower. Add a pinch of Saffron. Boil for 10 Minutes. Cool, strain and store. Massage the scalp with this oil twice a week.

Herbal Treatment For Swelling 2

Prepare a paste of Achyranthes Bidentata root, Coix Seed and Phellodendron Amurense Bark. Apply it on the Swollen part thrice a day.

Herbal Treatment For Swelling 4

Boil in half cup water One tablespoon each of Cassia Auriculata (Tarwar in India) bark and dried Ginger (Adrak in India) till it is reduced to 2 tablespoons. Strain and take.

Mix Wild Geranium root powder, Talcum Powder and Phellodendron Amurense bark powder gently. Apply the mixed powder locally on the swollen region.

Crush some leaves. Fry in Castor oil. Use it as bandage.

Take equal quantity of Sandalwood, Vetiver and Turmeric. Powder them together. Mix with little water and apply on the affected part.

Take 5 grams each of the bark of Drumstick , Indian Beech, Berberis Aristata ( Kilmora ) and the root of Golden Shower. Grind with some urine of cow. Apply on the affected area.

Take Half tablespoon fresh Lemon ( Nimbu in India ) Juice and One tablespoon Fresh juice of Bitter Gourd ( Karela in India ). Add 1 pinch of Ginger ( Adrak in India ) powder and take the mixture after meal.

Mix Withania Somnifera ( Ashwagandha in India ) leaf paste with dried Ginger ( Adrak in India ). Coat its layer on the swelling areas.

Blend the leaves of Withania Somnifera and prepare a paste. Heat up a half cup of Castor Oil for 5 minutes and then put the paste into heated oil. Apply this prepared mixture directly onto the swollen area.

Take one tablespoon of Coconut Oil ( or any other carrier oil ) and add 15 drops of Fennel, 10 drops of Cypress Essential Oil in it. Mix them well. Massage this oil blend to the affected area. Repeat the process after every two hours.

Grapefruit and Lemongrass Essential Oil alleviate Swelling. Grapeseed Oil help to strengthen the tissue.
Take one tablespoon of Grapeseed Oil and add six drops of Grapefruit, four drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil in it. Mix them well. Massage with this blend to the affected area. Repeat the process after every two hours.
