Pareira is a plant. It treats renal colic with pain going down the thighs when trying to pass urine. It is useful in treating prostate problems with urethritis with itching along the urethra. It enhances urination. It induces menstruation. Pareira Brava contains Curarine which treats poisonous snake bites.
It is taken in infused form. The roots of the Pareria vine are taken orally and the crushed leaves are applied topically on the bites.
Oral consumption of Pareira as medicine is safe. But if it enters the bloodstream through any cut or sore in the mouth it can turn poisonous.

Curare is an extract from the wooded stems of Pareira Brava. Curare is a muscle relaxant. It treats edema, inflammation of the testicles and kidney stones. Topical application of curare cures contusions and bruises. Curare in homeopathic form treats enlarged prostate and urinary tract inflammation. Curare obstructs the transmission of nerve impulses to receptor sites on skeletal muscles. It is applied in shock therapy and for setting broken bones.
