Amyloidosis is a disease of the Whole Body.
The abnormal formation of amyloid in the body is known as Amyloidosis. Amyloid is a protein that gets deposited in body tissues and organs. It is produced in the bone marrow and spreads to rest of the body organs. It effects the all body organs and causes impairment.
Normally the proteins get broken down in the body, However these abnormal proteins bind together and become hard to break. They cause immediate affect on the Heart, Kidneys, Nervous System and the Liver. The deposition of amyloid causes disruption in the normal functioning of the Organs.
Types of Amyloidosis
Primary Amyloidosis or Immunoglobulin light chain Amyloidosis : When the bone marrow produces excessive antibodies, they may get deposited in the body tissues. This interrupts the normal functioning of the organs.
Secondary Amyloidosis or AA Amyloidosis : It happens alongside constant irresistible infections such as Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome or Rheumatoid Joint Pain.
Hereditary Amyloidosis : It is a genetic type. It is carried forward from generations to generations. It affects the Liver, Nerves, Heart and Kidneys.
