The excessive deposition of iron in the body is Hemochromatosis.
It causes damage to the organ and may lead to organ failure. It is a genetic disorder. Normally, the required iron is absorbed by the body and the rest is excreted out. The level of iron is regulated by some genes. When something goes wrong with the genes, it causes Hemochromatosis
Causes of Hemochromatosis
It is a genetic disorder. It occurs due to a mutation in HFE gene. The two copies of this mutated gene are responsible for the development of this Disease.
