Botulism is a disease of the Whole Body.
An acute food poisoning caused by Botulism Toxin is Botulism.
Botulinum Toxin is produced by the Bacteria named Clostridium Botulinum. This micro organism may develop in canned and or low acid foods.
Botulinum Toxin blocks the motor nerve ability to release Neurotransmitters, that release nerve signals to the Muscles. Muscles controlling Airways and Breathing Fail.
The symptoms develop after three or four days of infection. Early signs in adult are Weakness, Dry Mouth, Vision Problems and Constipation. For these fatal changes, the toxin released by bacteria is responsible.
The bacteria is a type of anaerobic bacteria, which grows in absence of Oxygen. It may present in Soil, Contaminated foods and Honey. It is recommended not to give honey or processed foods that may contain honey to a baby before his first birthday. It is the most common cause for Infant Botulism, as the honey may contain the Bacteria.
Types of Botulism
Intestinal Botulism: It is caused by contaminated food or honey that contains the bacteria itself or its spores. Once the bacteria entered the body, it multiplies there and produces toxin in the Gastrointestinal Tract. Healthy people have ability to fight against infections. However, people with weak immunity or weak digestive system are not able to fight against infections.
Infant Botulism: If it occurs in Infants, it may pose a threat to life. In Infant Botulism, the Clostridium botulinum bacteria enters the infant's body and grows inside his Gastrointestinal tract. It produces a toxin inside the Gastrointestinal tract and give rise to a number of problems in a baby. The first sign may be Constipation, that is accompanied by Weak Muscles, Breathing, Sucking and Feeding problems.

Smoked Fish
Canned Food
Improper cooked or Preserved food at low oxygen packaging
Wound Botulism: This is a rare condition. As the Name indicates, the bacteria enter through an open wound and able to produces low oxygen environment inside the body.

Prevention: To prevent the infection, Eat a healthy diet and make your immune system strong.
Always eat well cocked food.
Keep the food at a proper temperature.

Materia Medica for Botulism
Single Herb Chew 2 raw Garlic cloves daily.
Extract the juice of Goldenseal herb. Take 1 teaspoon of this juice twice daily.
Extract the juice of Dandelion leaves and roots. Take 1 teaspoon of this juice twice daily.
Put half teaspoon of Echinacea powdered roots in one cup of water. Boil it. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drink thrice daily.
Consume 3 tablespoon of Honey once a day.
Mix 2 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in one cup of hot water. Drink it sip by sip before lunch.
Consume a small piece of raw Ginger after lunch and dinner.
