Wilson's Disease is a disease of the Whole Body and the Metabolism.
The metabolic disorder which causes excessive accumulation of copper in the Brain, Kidneys, Eyes and the Liver is called Wilson's Disease. It is an inherited disorder which excretes excess of Copper into the multiple Organs.
Copper is a reddish brown metal. It gets stored in the Bones and the Muscles. It plays various functions in the Human Body.
It is required for the Melanin Pigment in the Skin. Melanin gives natural Color to the Skin.
It helps in the formation of the Red Blood Cells. It strengths the Nervous System, Blood Vessels and Immune System.
It is necessary for the growth and development of the Brain.
The daily requirement of Copper in the Body is 900 micro grams. If the copper exceeds this level it may be dangerous for the Body. It may cause Nausea, Vomiting and Internal Bleeding.
Causes Of Wilson's Disease
Wilson's Disease is an inherited Genetic Disorder. It occurs due to an abnormal ATP7B gene in the Body. The patient carries two copies of this gene. If a person is having only one copy of this gene, then his body will not be considered as Diseased. His body will be carrier only and shows no Symptoms of Wilson's Disease. The diseased body must have two copies of this abnormal gene.
