Interactions with drugs:
Do not consume Psyllium within two hours of taking any other supplements or medications. It delays their absorption into the bloodstream.
Psyllium Husk is high in fiber which reduces the effectiveness of Carbamazepine and reduces the absorption of Digoxin.
Psyllium husk interact with lithium which decreases the effectiveness of lithium.
Avoid taking Psyllium Husk with Warfin. It may increase the risk of blood clotting.
Psyllium husk is very much effective in case of Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. When Psyllium Husk is taken along with Antidiabetic and Antihypertensive medication the regular monitoring of blood sugar and blood pressure is a must. If you notice the levels dropping below the normal range, reduce the dosage of Psyllium Husk.
Psyllium can make tetracycline antibiotics less effective.
Psyllium absorbs water. Never put the dry husks in the mouth.

Psyllium Seed Husk General
It maybe confusing to the general reader that Psyllium Seed Husk is consumed in different ways for different ailments. But it is true and has been used as such, with beneficial results, for hundreds of years. The husk has a different action on the human body when taken with different food items at different times.

Single HerbTake 3 teaspoons of Psyllium Seed Husk in a cup. Add water and a little sugar. Mix well. Eat it. Follow it with half a cup of yoghourt. Repeat thrice a day.
Or : Instead of yoghourt you may take a glass of lime water.
Take 2 teaspoons of Psyllium Seed Husk in a cup. Add a little milk and a little sugar. Mix well. Eat it. Follow it with one glass of hot milk. Consume it at night just before going to bed. Repeat for 7 days or till evacuation becomes regular.
Psyllium Seed Husk for Cholesterol
Mix 2 tablespoons of Psyllium Seed Husk in some water. The husk will swell quickly. Eat it quickly. Drink a glass of water. Take it first thing in the morning. Continue for as long as it takes to reduce the Cholesterol.

Add 1 tsp Psyllium Seed Husk in a cup of water. Drink it.
