What does Beta Carotene do for the body

Beta Carotene is a form of Provitamin A. It is converted into Vitamin A when entered into the body. The Antioxidant property of Beta Carotene protects the body from free radicals. It boosts the Immune System and strengthens the Eyesight. Beta Carotene protects the body from Infections and Allergies. Beta Carotene reduces the growth of Low Density Lipoprotein in the blood. This lowers the risk of Heart Diseases and diseases such as Atherosclerosis. Long term intake of Beta Carotene provides Cognitive Effects.
It has Antioxidant, Photoprotective and Synergistic effects.

Requirement of Beta Carotene per day

1 to 4 years : 60 to 90 mg
5 to 8 years : 90 to 120 mg
9 to 12 years : 120 to 150 mg
13 to 16 years : 150 to 180 mg
17 and Above : 180 mg
