The plant bark is Astringent, Carminative, Febrifuge, Ophthalmic and Styptic in nature. A decotion of the bark is used in the treatment of Diarrhea, Chronic Dysentery, Flatulence, Bloody Stool, Leucorrhea and Gonorrhea.
The powdered root of the plant is Diuretic in nature. It is used as refreshment.
The leaves are carminative in nature.
