Amaurosis is a disease of the Eyes.
Total or partial loss of Eye vision is Amaurosis. It occurs due to the Nerve, Brain or the Spinal Cord Injury. However, it shows no visible change in the Eye, but it causes the Loss of Vision.

Alcohol
Smoking
Diabetes
Nerve Injury
Brain Injury
High cholesterol
Spinal Cord Injury
High Blood pressure
Carotid Artery Disease
If not treated properly, Amaurosis may cause
Blindness
Differential Diagnosis : Learn to differentiate between Amaurosis and Amaurasis Fugax. Amaurosis Fugax is temporary. It causes the loss of vision due to poor blood circulation to the Retina.
