Description
Choroidal Neovascular Membrane is a disease of the Eye. It is a condition related to various eye problems.
A healthy Retina is needed for clear vision. The Retina receives light and presents picture to the Brain with the help of the Optic Nerves. However with the growing age the Retina muscles get weak and degenerate.
In case of Choroidal Neovascular Membrane, new blood vessels are formed in the Choroid. The Choroid is a white portion present between the Retina and the Sclera. It provides essential nutrients and oxygen to the Eye. The newly formed blood vessels are weak and break easily, causing blood to leak into the Retina. This damages the Retina and causes blurred or complete loss of Vision.
