Citronella Essential Oil is obtained from the Cymbopogon genus plant family. It is extracted through steam distillation of Cymbopogon Nardus ( Jowitt ) grass and Cymbopogon Winterianus ( Rendal ). This produces two types of oils : Citronella Ceylon Oil and Citronella Java Oil.
Citronella Ceylon Oil : It is obtained by steam distillation of Cymbopogon Nardus. It has warm, citrusy and wood scent. It has a pale to dark yellow color.
Citronella Java Oil : It is obtained from distilled Cymbopogon Winterianus. It has fresh lemon like scent. It is dark in color. It is considered higher in quality than Ceylon oil.
