Description
Goiter is a disease of the Thyroid Gland.
The abnormal enlargement of Thyroid Gland is Goiter.
The size of thyroid gland increases from its normal size. It is painless.
Thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland at the base of the neck just below the adam's apple.
The function of thyroid gland is to produce thyroid hormone.
Thyroid hormone is required to control the absorption of fats and carbohydrates.
The release of thyroid hormone is controlled by the Pituitary gland and the Hypothalamus.
When the system is impaired the thyroid hormone either increases or decreases. This impaired functioning enlarges the thyroid gland.
Both Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism give rise to the Goiter.

Materia Medica for Goiter
Single Herb
Kelp for Goiter
Take Dried Kelp. Grind. Have half teaspoon with lukewarm water once a day.
Warm some Dandelion leaves in ghee. Tie these leaves over swelling.
Drink 1 cup of Pineapple juice once a day.
Make paste of Flax seeds by adding some water in it. Warm and apply on the swelling.
OR : Massage the neck using Flaxseed oil.
Eat 2 Bananas per day.
Take fresh leaves of Rumex Acetosa and mash them in olive oil. Make a paste. Apply the paste over the affected area twice a day.
Prepare a paste of the leaves of Watercress ( Jalkumbhi ). Apply on the affected area.
Or:
Take 2 tablespoons of watercress juice in a glass of water. Drink it two times a day.
Prepare a decoction of the barksof Bauhinia. Take 1/4th cup daily on an empty stomach.
Consume 3-4 Walnuts daily. It helps in balancing the functioning of Thyroid.
Have one glass of Barley water daily to cure Goiter.
Kelp for Thyroid Problems
Including Kelp in your diet helps in maintaining Thyroid functioning.
Consume Irish Moss either in Soup or in cooked form.
Add 1 tsp Coconut Oil in a glass of warm Milk. Drink it during night time..
Include Cucumber in your daily diet in the form of salad.
Consume Broccoli either in raw or cooked form in your diet.
