Garlic Pear is grown in the hilly regions of Nepal too. It has local name "Sipligan". It is considered as medicinal plant and the leaves are cooked as vegetable by adding venegar(to remove the bitter taste). Local people in Nepal believe that it is beneficial for hypertension and sugar problems.
