Description
Leishmaniasis or Sandfly Bite is a disease of the Skin.
The Parasitic infection caused by Leishmania parasite is Leishmaniasis.
This parasite enters the human body through the bite of he female sandfly.
Types of Leishmaniasis
Visceral Leishmaniasis : When it attacks the internal organs like the Liver, Spleen and the Bone Marrow.
Cutaneous Leishmaniasis : When it only attacks the Skin and causes Skin infection.
Diffuse Cutaneous Leishmaniasis : It resembles Leprosy. It produces skin lesions.
Mucocutaneous Leishmaniasis : It causes skin ulcers and damage to the tissues of the Nose and the Mouth.
Causes of Leishmaniasis or Sandfly Bite
The only known cause is the bite of a female sandfly.
If not treated properly, Leishmaniasis may cause
Death
Edema
Bleeding
Ruptured spleen
Disfigurement of the Face
Secondary bacterial infection
Lesions in the Nose and Throat
Disfiguring of the Nose, Lips, and Palate
Your best bet is an application of diluted Tea Tree oil on the exposed parts of the body
Materia Medica for Sandfly Bite
Single Herb Prevention : : Take 100 ml of Jasmine oil or any other light oil. Add a few drops of Tea Tree oil. Shake well. Apply on exposed parts of the body.
Treatment : : If you have been bitten by a Sandfly. Apply the same oil on the affected parts three times a day.
