Materia Medica for Sweet Acacia

Sweet Acacia General

Sweet Acacia possess Astringent, Demuclent, Antiinflammatory and Antiseptic properties. Various plant parts are used medicinally. The bark, leaves and root are used medicinally. The decoction of the plant is used as Gargle for diseases. It is effective for diseases related to Oral Cavity as Dental caries, inflamed and infected gums.
The bark decoction is used as a bath to treat Typhoid. The juice of the bark treats Swellings.
The roots are chewed to treat Sore Throat.
The gum extracted from the trunk of the tree is used to treat Diarrhea.
An infusion of the flower of the plant is used as a Stomachic. It is used in the treatment of Dyspepsia and Neurosis. The flowers are used as an ointment to treat Headache.
The leaves are Anti Bacterial in nature. It is used to treat Syphilitic Ulcers. The powdered dried leaves of the plant are applied topically. It is used in the treatment of Wounds.
A decoction of green pods is used to treat Dysentery and Skin Inflammation. An infusion of the pods is used to treat Sore Throat, Diarrhea, Leucorrhea, Conjunctivitis and Uteorrhagia.
The paste of seeds of the plant is used to control bleeding from Wounds.
