Description
Kokum or Garcinia Indica, is a fruit-bearing tree. It is found in the Western Ghats of India. There are 200 species all over the world. But only 35 species are found in India.
Kokum is found near evergreen forests, river banks, and wastelands.
It belongs to the Mangosteen family. It is harvested on a small scale. No irrigation, no pesticides or fertilizers are required.
The rind of the fruit is dried in the sun to get Kokum. It is a sour spice. It is the perfect substitute of Tamarind. The seed oil is used in preparing confectionery products, medicines, and cosmetics.
Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) is also extracted from the peel of the fruit.
The kokum oil is used in foot massage. It is also used to treat dysentery, diarrhea, phthisis and skin problems. External use of oil helps in curing ulcers & cracked lips.

Take the following herbs :
Adina Cordifolia : Haridru : Oil : 50 gram
Mallotus Philippensis : Kamala : Oil : 50 gram
Bergenia : Pashanbheda : Oil : 50 gram
Indian Madder : Manjeeth : Oil : 50 gram
Dandelion : Dudal : Oil : 50 gram
Vateria Indica : Badasal : Oil : 50 gram
Aloe Vera : Gheekumari : Gel : 100 gram
Kokum : Kokam : Dried : Powdered : 50 gram
Put all oils in a pan. Heat the combination on a low flame. After 15 to 20 minutes, add the remaining ingredients. Stir it time to time. When the mixture becomes thick, remove from the heat. Let it cool. Store in a bottle. Use it on cracked heels at night daily.
