Punarnavarishta is a multiple herb formulation.
It is prepared by fermenting the decoction of medicinal herbs for enhancing its remedial properties to treat a number of Disorders.
The main ingredient of this herbal formulation is Punarnava. It has notable Antiinflammatory and Diuretic properties. It provides aid in Spleen, Heart, Kidney, Urinary System Disorders and is an excellent Liver tonic.
It takes a good care of Heart and reduces the workload on the heart by reducing Edema.
It enhances the formation of red blood cells, thus improving the weakness due to Anemia.
It reduces the accumulation of fat on the Liver. It rejuvenates the Liver and detoxify it. It helps in Jaundice and Hepatitis.
Since it has a mild laxative property, it increases Appetite.
It regulates the body fluid levels in the tissues. It is a blood cleanser and improves blood circulation in the body.
It lowers the Uric Acid level and increases its secretion. Thus enhancing the flow of Urine.
It aids the production of digestive juices and enzymes in the Stomach.
It alleviates the Pain, Swelling and Inflammation.
Methods of Administration. How to Take.Ingredients :Take half cup of each of the following herbs :
Boerhavia Verticillata ( Sveta Punarnava ) dried roots
Boerhavia Diffusa ( Rakta Punarnava ) dried roots
Sida cordifolia ( Bala ) dried roots
Abuliton Indicum ( Atibala ) dried roots
Cissampelos Parieta ( Patha ) dried roots
Adhatoda Vasica ( Vasa ) dried roots
Tinospora Cordifolia ( Guduchi ) dried stems
Plumbago Zeylanica ( Chitraka ) dried roots
Solanum Surattense ( Nidigdhika ) dried plant
Grind all the above ingredients into a coarse powder.
Boil it in 12 liters of water till it is reduced to 6 liters. Add 9 Kg of Jaggery in it. Let it cool and then add 3 cups of Honey in it.
Store it in an air tight container and keep it inside a stack of Barley for 1 month. Let it ferment.
After fermentation, Strain the liquid and add 5 teaspoons of each of the following powdered herbs in it.
Bay Leaf ( Patra ) dried leaves
Cinnamomum Zeylanicum ( Tvak ) dried stem bark
Cardamom ( Ela ) dried seeds
Black Pepper ( Maricha ) dried fruits
Vettiver ( Hrivera ) dried roots
Mesua Ferrea ( Nagakeshara ) dried Stamens
Again store this liquid in a jar, smudged with Honey and Ghee till it becomes aromatic.
Consume 2 teaspoons with equal amount of water, twice daily after meals.
