Description
Crohn's Disease is a disease of the Gastrointestinal Tract.
The inflammation of the Digestive Tract is Crohn's Disease.
It is called an Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It may occur at any part of the digestive tract from the Mouth to the Anus.
Normally the Gastrointestinal Tract releases enzymes that digest food. But inflammation of the this tract causes swelling and irritation of the Intestines. It results in the impairment of the normal functions of the Intestines. This leads to the malfunction of absorption of nutrients in the intestines. It give rise to Anemia. Crohn's Disease develops fistula in the intestines. This may cause blockage of stools and is a life threatening condition.
Causes of Crohn's Disease
The reason for Crohn's Disease is not known. But is believed that it is an Autoimmune Disease. However, the following causes may be the cause of this disease.
Stress
Smoking
Poor Diet
Alcoholism
Food Allergy
Attack of Free Radicals
Eating too much oily foods
If not treated properly, Corhn's Disease may cause
Arthritis
Gallstones
Mouth Ulcers
Genital Ulcers
Kidney Problems
