Loss of Smell is a disease of the Brain.
The condition in which a person looses the ability to smell is called Loss of Smell.

The Brain controls all the five senses like Touch, Hear, Taste, Smell and Sight. The Olfactory bulb is the part of the brain responsible for the transfer of smell from nose to the brain. If anything goes wrong with the brain or the Olfactory System, it causes Loss of Smell. The loss of smell can be either temporary or permanent depending upon the cause.

What is Olfactory?
Our Nose has special kind of small sensory receptor cells that helps in detecting the different types of odor. The sense of smell is also known as Olfaction. Just above the Nasal cavity there is a special organ known as Olfactory Bulb.

The "Loss of Smell" may be the harbinger of Alzheimer. The body sends signals when something goes wrong with it. The loss of smell may be the earliest of signs of Alzheimer. If you develop loss of smell get yourself checked from a Doctor.

Materia Medica for Loss of Smell

Single Herb

Castor Oil for Loss of Smell

Warm 2 drops of Castor oil and put in each nostril. Repeat the process 2 times a day, in the morning and before going to bed.

Garlic for Loss of Smell

Put 3 chopped Garlic cloves in one cup of water. Boil it. Simmer for 5 minutes. Strain and drink it lukewarm. Repeat the process twice daily.

Ginger for Loss of Smell

Take half teaspoon of Ginger with a pinch of Rock Salt in it. Have it 30 minutes before each meal.

Peppermint Essential Oil for Loss of Smell

Boil 3 glasses of water and add 7-8 drops of Peppermint Oil in it. Inhale the steam for 10-15 minutes. Repeat the process 2 times a day.

Cayenne for Loss of Smell

Take 1 teaspoon each of Cayenne ( Lal Mirch ) and Honey. Mix them well. Consume it twice daily.

Lemon Essential Oil for Loss of Smell

Put 2-3 drops of Lemon Essential Oil on a handkerchief and inhale the smell of it for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the process 2 times a day, in the morning and evening.
