Athlete's Foot is a Skin disease of the Feet.
It is a fungal infection.
The fungal infection that affects the Skin of the feet is Athlete's Foot. It may occur between the toes, soles of the feet, fingernails and toenails.
This infection is caused by a fungus called Tinea Pedis.
It is also known as ringworm of the feet.
It lives off the dead skin cells.
It is contagious.
It is easily communicated from foot to foot in the moist, warm places. It causes red and scaly skin. It may give rise to blisters too. The infected area may have burning sensation and itching.
The Fungus needs moist, poorly ventilated environment to survive.
It is transmitted from wet floor, by touching infected shoes, socks.

Tips to prevent Athlete's Foot
Athlete’s foot is an irritating and a painful problem. Following simple tips will help you to keep your feet dry and healthy.
Wash your hands with soap and water right after you come in contact with the infected area. Wash your feet twice a day.
Use a separate bath soap. It will protect you from getting infected.
Do not share your towel with the infected person.
Do not wear the same socks more than one day. Wash your socks in hot water as it kills the fungal spores.
Keep your feet dry as long as you can.
Consume immune boosting foods such as broccoli, scallions, and or omega-3 fatty acid food.
Do not wear shoes, in fact wear sandals to avoid the moisture.
Always sprinkle your shoes with Lysol spray and anti fungal spray every time you take off your shoes.
Always wear socks made up of natural fibers like cotton or wool.
If not treated properly, Athlete's Foot may cause
Cellulitis
Lymphangitis
poor Hygiene
Poor Digestion
weak Immune System
Secondary infections
Fungal nail infections
Bacterial skin infections
A disease on the Skin is the least important disease of the body. Treatment should cater to eradicating the disease from within outwards. Local applications of the steroids are not recommended.
Materia Medica for Athlete's Foot
Single Herb Add a few drops of tea tree oil to water and wash feet.
Dilute tea tree oil with a carier oil and apply to foot.
Take warm water in a bucket. Add crushed cloves of Garlic in it. Soak feet for 10-15 minutes.
OR Warm some Garlic oil. Mop Athlete's Foot with this.
Prepare an infusion of Ginger root. Apply it on the affected area.
Prepare a decoction of dried Liquorice root. Apply it on the affected area twice a day.
Add a few drops of Chamomile oil to water and wash feet.
Or : Dilute Chamomile oil with a carrier oil and apply to the foot.
Prepare Echinacea tincture. Add this tincture to your juice. Drink 2-3 times a day.
Golden Seal for Athlete's Foot
Add 6-8 tsp to a cup of boiling water. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Apply it on the affected area thrice a day.
Add Epsom salt to your bathing tub. Soak the infected foot in the tub atleast for 10 Minutes. Do as, twice a day.
Apply yogurt using the cotton bud on the infected area. Leave it overnight. Wash it with cold water. Remove the dry skin and sprinkle any antiseptic powder on it.
Add 3 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar in water. Dip your foot in it for 30 minutes. Use it for 2 weeks.
Make a thick paste of Baking Soda with water. Apply it on the infected areas. Wash after 15 minutes.
OR :
Rub the Baking Soda ( Meetha Soda ) on your feet to keep it dry. Then wear socks and shoes. Repeat this procedure daily to prevent moisture.
Antifungal property of Coconut Oil ( Nariyal Ka Tel ) combats the fungal infections. It gets back the dead skin to the normal.
Take 100 ml Coconut Oil ( Nariyal Ka Tel ). Add 2 teaspoons Glycerine and 4 teaspoons Rosewater. Beat and bottle. Apply on the feet twice a day.
Rub Onion juice between the toes to get rid of fungal infection. Rub the juice three - four times a day on the affected area.
Drop 10 pieces of Cinnamon ( Dalchini ) sticks in 5 cups of boiling water. Simmer it for 5 minutes. Steep it for 45 minutes. Now Soak your feet for around 30 minutes in this solution. Repeat this procedure once daily to stop fungal growth due to the moist feet.
OR :
The essential oil of Cinnamon ( Dalchini ) is quite useful for Athlete's Foot.
Dilute it with any other carrier oil and apply to the skin.
Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) Leaves for Athlete's Foot
Take fresh Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) Leaves. Boil 15 to leaves in 2 liter of water and soak your feet for 15 minutes. Pat dry and apply Azadirachta Indica ( Neem ) Leaves paste over them. Wear socks. Rinse in next day.
Take 2 to 3 Carrot ( Gaajar ) according to the requirement. Grind. Apply over affected part. Let it dry. Rinse with lukewarm water. It cures the problem effectively.
Add one teaspoon of Turmeric ( Haldi ) in 2 liters of lukewarm water. Soak your feet for 15 minutes. Pat dry. Apply herbal moisturizer.
Prepare Lemon Grass tea. Drink twice a day. Keep the used tea bag on the affected area.
OR : Boil Lemongrass in some water.
Use it as a wash or compress.
The Antifungal property of May Chang Essential Oil helps to fight fungal infection. It helps to remove the dead skin cells and treats Athlete's Foot.
Add 4 to 5 drops of May Chang Essential Oil in 1 to 2 tablespoon of any carrier oil ( like- Coconut Oil ). Mix well. Apply it on the affected area. Gently massage for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat this two times a day for 15 to 20 days.
First, Rub a few amount of Corn ( Makaai ) flour on your feet. then, heat up the oven to 330 degrees. Put 2 cups of Corn flour onto a plate and put it in the oven. Heat it till it to brownish. Rub it on your feets and toes. Leave it for 10 minutes. Dry out your feet with a clean towel. Repeat it regularly to prevent fungal infections
Note : Wash off your hands after the application unless it effects worse.
Dilute 1 cup of Vinegar ( Sirka ) in 2 cups of fresh water. Soak your feet for 30 minutes especially at night to get the relief. It protects the feet from any sort of fungal infection.
Grind Olive ( Jaitun ) leaves to prepare a paste. Dab a cotton ball in this paste and apply on your affected area. Cover it with a cotton cloth for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this procedure twice a day. It kills the fungus that causes Athlete's Foot.
Put 5 to 6 teaspoons of Common Salt ( Namak ) to a half-filled tub of lukewarm water. Soak your feet for 15 minutes. Dry your feet with a clean towel. Repeat this procedure thrice a day until you get properly healed.
Mix a half cup of Lemon ( Nimboo ) juice into a tub containing 11 cups of water. Stir it well. Soak your feet for 20 minutes in this water. Repeat it twice a day to heal yourself from Athlete's Foot.
Dilute 2 to 3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil with 1 teaspoon of any carrier oil such as Olive Oil ( Jaitun Ka Tel ). Regularly massage with this solution on your affected areas.
Blend 3 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil in 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil ( Jaitun Ka Tel ). Daily massage with it on your affected areas to clear fungus.
Grind dried Guava leaves to make a powder. Apply over the affected areas.
Note : Do not use for more than 30 days.

Apply Margosa Oil ( Neem Ka Tel ) to your feet before going to sleep. Repeat this procedure during the night to get best results.

Take half ounce of Marigold Oil and 30 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil. Mix them well. Massage the affected area with three drops of this oil blend over the affected area. Repeat the process two times a day.
