Description
Polymyalgia Rheumatica is a disease of the Muscles.
The inflammatory disorder that causes stiffness in the Muscles is Polymyalgia Rheumatica. It causes pain in the Neck, Arms, Shoulders, Knees, Hips and the Thighs.
A number of Fibrous tissues bind together and form a band known as Muscle. The contraction and relaxation of the muscles provide movement to the body parts. However, if anything goes wrong with the muscles it causes pain and stiffness.
The stiffness and pain is worse in the morning or after the periods of inactivity.
Polymyalgia Rheumatica generally occurs at an age above 55 years.
Causes of Polymyalgia Rheumatica
The actual cause is not known. However, Genetics is believed to be the main suspect.
