Description

Post Nasal Drip is a Disease of the Nose and the Throat.
The running Mucus moving down from the back of the Nose to the Throat is Post Nasal Drip.
Normally, Mucus of the Nose mixes with Saliva and drips back to the Throat to be swallowed regularly throughout the Day. Mucus is a sticky substance produced by mucous membranes. It traps and destroys Viruses and Bacteria.
Mucus becomes noticeable when it is produced in excess or is thicker than normal. This excessive mucus forms runny Nose. Producing excess of Mucus is not the Problem. But not clearing the Mucus properly creates swallowing problems that cause Post Nasal Drip. This is due to infections, blockage and age.
