Description
Tympanitis is a disease of the Ear.
The inflammation in the middle ear is known as Tympanitis.
The inflammation arises in the internal membrane of the ear. The membrane is known as Tympanic Membrane. It divides the ear into two parts, the middle ear and the external ear. It is a thin and delicate membrane that transmits the sound in the internal ear. If there is some infection it may cause inflammation of this membrane. It disrupts the normal functioning of the membrane and may cause hearing problems.
Tympanitis is more common in children.
