Description
Spinal Cord Injury is a disease of the Spinal Cord.
Any injury that causes damage to the Spinal Cord is Spinal Cord Injury.
Spinal Cord consists of rings of bones called Vertebrae. It is surrounded by the Tissues, Bones, Nerves and the Blood Vessels. The nerves run from the Brain to the back of the Body. Nerves transmit signals between the Brain and the Spinal Cord. It provides support to the Body. But an Injury may damage the Nerve cells, Soft tissues and Bones of the Spinal Cord. It disrupts the Signals of the Nerves that causes Numbness and Loss of sensation in the Lower Body. Call it Paralysis of Lower Body.
