Description
Lordosis is a disease of the Spinal Cord.
The misaligned or exaggerated curves of the Spinal Cord is Lordosis.
The Spinal Cord begins from the Neck and tends to the Lower Back. It absorbs shock and supports the Body weight.
The three types of Curves of the Spinal Cord are:
Kyphotic Curves : It is an outward curve that includes Thoracic Spine and leads up to the Ribs.
Scoliotic Curves : It includes the side curves. The curves may be C shaped or S shaped.
Lordotic Curves : In this, the Spinal Cord is turned inwards from the Lower Back.
In Lordosis, the Spinal Cord has abnormal or misaligned Curves.
Causes of Lordosis
Tumor
Obesity
Dwarfism
Spondylitis
Osteoporosis
Bone Deformity
Spondylolisthesis
Abnormal growth of the Bones
Inflammation of the Disc ( Discitis )
Other Problems with the Spinal Cord
If not treated properly, Lordosis may cause
Retroverted Uterus, in Pregnant Women.
