Description
Leaky Gut Syndrome is a disease of the Intestines.
The increased permeability ( porousness )of the Intestines is Leaky Gut Syndrome.
Permeability is a condition in which the membrane allows a liquid or gas to pass through it.
Intestines are porous. Under normal conditions, certain fluids and gases pass from the Intestine walls into our body.
It occurs when the Tight Junction present in the Gut does not function properly. It increases the permeability of the Intestines. It is a result of damaged cells of the Intestinal lining. The Intestinal lining becomes less protective and fails to filter the toxins. It allows large and or less digested particles of food to pass through it.
