Kidney Cyst is a disease of the Kidneys.
The cyst formed in the Kidneys are Kidney Cyst. They are noncancerous and are rarely harmful. Cysts are the small sacs that contain fluid. Kidneys are bean shaped organs. They are located at the back of the abdominal cavity, on either side of the body. They are the filter plant of the body. Anything that disrupts the functions of the Kidneys causes problems. It causes mild pain on the back or side.
Types of Kidney Cyst :
Simple or Renal Kidney Cyst : It may be present at the time of birth, or develops due to a Trauma, Inflammation, and Tumor. It is made up of thin wall and filled with a yellowish fluid. It is a asymptomatic condition. It is usually harmless unless the enlargement or infection of the Cyst.
Polycystic Kidney Disease : It is a genetic disorder. It passes on to the next generation. The Cyst is filled with Urine and a white fluid containing Red Blood Cells. The symptoms of Polycystic Kidney Disease include Back pain, Flank pain, Blood in Urine, High blood pressure. If left untreated it may lead to Renal Failure.
Causes of Kidney Cyst
The cause of the Kidney Cyst is not known. Diverticulum may be a cause. That is the formation of sacs filled with fluid. When these sacs are detached they give rise to Cyst.
