Dear Cary IIiff Oxyphylla is a Herb which treats Frequent Urination and controls the Bladder function. It has been used to treat this condition for many decades. Other cure is pumpkin seed extracts. I am considering a bladder control product that contains ALPINIA OXYPHYLLA (YI ZHI REN) I just read that this it "could significantly increase the contracture of left atrium, and its cardiotonic ingredient was yakuchinone A. Should this be a concern to me since I have a pacemaker and have had in the past irregular heart rhythm?

John Jackson. No, it is advised that you do not take any herb or product without the consultation of your health care provider. It is not safe for you to try any cardiovascular herb since you have a pacemaker in our heart.
