Sesame seeds are derived from the Sesame plant which is one of the oldest oilseed plants in the world. It is an annual plant. It belongs to the Pedaliaceae family. It grows in tropical climate. The seeds are very small in size, about 2 mm wide and 3-4 mm long. Originally, they were native to India and parts of Africa, although many other countries are now cultivating them. They are commonly added to salads and as a topping for bread and grain products, Crackers, Sushi, Cakes, Soups, etc…Sesame seed oil is derived from the seeds which is a rich source of Nutrients.
