Thuja Plicata General
All parts of Thuja Plicata tree are used medicinally. Different parts of the tree are used to treat different diseases.
An infusion of the leaves of the tree are used in Stomach pains and Diarrhea. A decoction of leaves are good for Cold. A decoction of powdered leaves is also beneficial medicinally. It externally treats Internal pains and Rheumatism. The leaf buds are chewed to treat Toothache and Sore Lungs.
A decoction of the buds is used as a Gargle. An infusion of stem tips and roots is used in the treatment of Cold.
A decoction of small branches of the tree is used in the treatment of Cough, Cold and Tuberculosis. An infusion prepared in liquid form is used in the treatment of painful joints caused by Rheumatism or Arthritis.
A poultice of the crushed bough tips is applied topically on the back and chest. It is used in the treatment of Bronchitis, Rheumatism, Stomach pains and Swollen neck. A decoction of boughs is used as an Antidandruff shampoo.
An infusion of twigs is used as a wash in the treatment of Venereal disease sores.
An infusion of plant's bark and twigs is used in the treatment of Fevers. A chewed decoction of the bark is drunk to induce Menstruation. A poultice of the inner bark is applied topically to treat Carbuncles. The soft bark of the tree are used to bind Wounds and cover dressing.
