Description
Umbilical Hernia is a disease of the Abdomen.
When the intestine protrudes through a weak spot of the abdominal muscles is Umbilical Hernia.
It occurs around the navel or belly button (umbilicus).
Umbilical Hernia is most common in infants. It may be noticed when the baby cries.
Sometimes the muscles through which the blood vessels pass to feed the fetus, does not close completely it causes Umbilical hernia.
Causes of Umbilical Hernia
Cough
Ascites
Obesity
Multiple Pregnancy
Heavy weight lifting
If not treated properly, Umbilical Hernia may cause
Death of tissues
Strangulated Hernia
