What is Common Cold

Mankind has been battling Cold from centuries. But common Cold eludes us. Cold is a result of functional change of the body. It is a reaction to the imbalance confronted by the body. We all have experienced it, nobody gets spared. Children being at higher risk, even elders get affected once or twice a year.

Cold during Pregnancy

Suffering from Cold can be extremely difficult, especially when you are Pregnant. A Pregnant mother generally needs to take good care of her health, it is beneficial in the overall development of the baby. Cold in Pregnancy makes the condition miserable. You may feel like not getting up or stay resting the entire day.

Role of Immunity in Cold and Pregnancy

Immunity of a Body is at its lowest during changes of the weather. When the weather changes from summer to rainy or rainy to winters, the body is at its least level of defense. When the days are warm and nights are cold the body becomes susceptible to functional changes in the body.

Immune system of the body undergoes lot of changes during Pregnancy. Its prime focus becomes protection of the growing baby. Immune system of a pregnant mother may even lower its strength so that it doesn’t harm the developing child itself. These changes in the immune system may leave the pregnant mother vulnerable towards Cold.

A body having a weakened immune system when suddenly gets exposed to changed temperatures, it causes Cold. Imagine you had a hot water bath in winters, immediately you walk outside the house inadequately covering the body. Within minutes you develop Cold symptoms. There was no involvement of virus or bacteria at this time. Cold symptoms developed as a reaction by the body to protect itself from sudden changes in the temperature. Reheat the body immediately if you want a fast recovery.
